In order to unhijack the Intrada thread on the main board...
How much a month is everyone spending on food? For me, it's around 300 dollars. Next question - rent? For me, 640 dollars a month for a 2 bedroom.

I still live with my parents. However, at school I get $600 a semester for food....which would be roughly 16 weeks. Its not even close to enough, $100 a week figures to be what I spend, at least thats how much the parents are willing to spend. I usually get water (free) but its still too expensive, especially when I want to get a juice.
but part of that is because the cafeteria is more expensive than the usual fast food or grocery store.

My wife and I spend about 300 per month on food... it was higher than that, but we don't eat out nearly as much anymore, in order to save money. Trying to save up for a house and all that. My rent is $500 a month for a one-bedroom apt. w/kitchen, living room, bathroom, and laundry room. Back at ya later

On average I spend about twenty dollars a day on food. That's $600. My rent comes to about $1000.

Jens, at last, someone who eats properly. I spend about $800 a month on groceries (this does include household items as well as food). No rent, but the mortgage is around $2000 a month.

Can't say about the food, but I'd guess something around $300-400. The rent is around 1000 a month for 2 bedrooms, but it's only half since I share.

Between $150-200/month for food (that's not counting liquor ). $275/month for rent (I share a big house with four other roomies).

$500 for food... trying to cut that back though. It's $1269 a month for a two bedroom apartment, which I split with my roommate.

What do all you people do with all your money? If you're all spending virtually nothing on food or rent, it must be going somewhere.

I'd venture to guess a lot of them are still in college, living primarily off Ramen noodles.
I remember those days well. Apart from the fact that I had a lot of time to play video games, there was little positive about them.

Well, in my case, I'm trying to save it... as I said, we'd like to buy a house within a year or so, and one needs money for such things. That, combined with the fact that I don't exactly make lots of money to begin with. Back at ya later

My rent is $1,050 per month for a 2-bed apartment... I'd say I spend between $300-$500 a month on food, and that includes groceries and eating out. Then there's gas, my car payment, other bills...

I am in college and live in the dorms as an RA, so I get my Room and Board as well as a meal plan paid for. Plus I have other scholarships for tuition and fees. So I get a check every semester for about $2000, which rocks. However, over the summer when I live on my own when I intern with companies I spend around 600 a month for rent and probably 400 or so on food. By the way, I will be back in California this summer.

Food? Probably around £150 a month. Rent? £150 a month (I share a house with 2 other peeps). Then there's £90 a month on car insurance, £130 on petrol and £110 on the loan. And there's little bits and bobs like cable, internet, nights out.
