Recently, an odd but common, event occured while I eating lunch. At first, I wasn't really interesting in this event (I was too busy eating), but since the others had went outside to stare at this event, I slowly followed them. Two police cars, along with a EMT vehicle, were parked outside of a nearby house. It was such a gorgeous and quiet September day that when the sparse conversation turned to speculation of death, I couldn't help but to stay there and enjoy the bleak, quiet atmosphere. It was so quiet, but, then, out of the silence, erupted the sounds of an approaching siren, as an ambulance rushed down the empty street. I've never heard sirens, or a Dobbler Effect, like this. Maybe it was the setting... An old lady stood on her porch, while the gurney was taken out of the ambulance. I didn't see what ocured next because one of the three people I was with went back inside, and I followed them. News of death came back inside with the other person. Life is so cruel, so short. There are so many things to do and not enough time... One day, I would like to met you. Nate, Yavar, Jangles, Brendan, Hook, Jon Lord, Jocko, Cap, cK, Jens, Jon and Ami (again), Tom, Erik, Southall, Clark, Joe, Christopher, Emily, Cheno, and the rest of the "Top Posters." During one year, one summer, one day, we should have a gathering. It's never too early to plan. Yavar, do you know when the Hollywood Bowl will be putting out their summer schedule.... For those in the NYC area, on Saturday, Feb.3, I'm going to the Morricone concert at Radio City Music Hall. (I just have to buy a ticket whenever they come out). It would nice to met up with some fellow Inchon-buying, score-loving, end credits-watching folks. ;D It sounds like a great day to warm up with the sounds of Morrricone, in addittion to the sounds of fellow score freaks, say over a cup of tea or something like that. I can even bring some Rozsa stuff... www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.asp?threadID=35843&forumID=1 goldenscores.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=72&p=3-Carlton NP: Young Bess PS: Muckle, did you like the Mother's Love cue from Ben Hur, or the Main theme from King of Kings?

If you mean *next* summer, I'm not sure. I'll let you guys know, and if you want you can check hollywoodbowl.com. I'd love to meet more of you! Incidentally, the encore at last night's Farewell to John Mauceri concert was the Love Theme to El Cid. Yeah, you heard me: Miklos Rozsa's best love theme, perhaps the most beautiful piece of music ever written, performed live! It was pretty sweet. Danny Elfman's Overeager Overture was good too. Yavar

I would love to meet some other people (though I doubt some share my same enthusiasm towards me)! I have met Jens and Mark, but that's it. Perhaps I'll have a job by Feburary and will be able to go to NY...

I'd like to do something like that sometime... we'd definitely have to start planning ahead way in advance... but it would be great to meet all of you. I don't have a very big income, but if I were able to know far enough ahead of time, I could probably make arrangements. Sound great! I'm guessing it would probably be in California, since it seems like there's a lot of you out there. Which kinda sucks for me, since I'm in Georgia, but, oh well.
Back at ya later

You sound like you're dying Carlton. ;D Nah, I'm just getting too old... I thought I was gonna die after watching the first 3 Qtrs of the Giants game. I actually turned that crap off for awhile before I tuned back in and saw the amazing comeback. That's the problem. Most of the film music concerts are in LA. (Damn you, Yavar for gloating about El Cid. ;D ). It seems like they have a film music concert every week. Location-wise Minnesota is probably the best, but the weather is also more friendly in LA. I dread the Arizona (Phoniex) heat, so Cheno and Brendan's state would have to be automatically vetoed for weather reasons. NY is also good, but it seems like more of us are located in the CA area... NY is also way too overcrowed, but it's not a bad choice. Right now, I don't have enough cash to go on a cross-country Gathering, but if I started planning now, I should be able to do it sometime next summer. Btw, good luck with the job process. I hate the whole process. It sucks. So if evertyhing goes alright, we can start planning a preliminary Gathering for Summer '07... I would love to meet some other people (though I doubt some share my same enthusiasm towards me)! I have met Jens and Mark, but that's it. Perhaps I'll have a job by Feburary and will be able to go to NY... Cool. It's gonna be pretty cool (cold) in Febraury.... -Carlton

Both my wife and I were recently hired into career type jobs and are enjoying more money, frankly, than we know what to do with. That said, one thing we don't have a lot of is time. A gathering would be fun if I could make it. I guess Mesquite is out, too, if the weather in Pheonix is bad (it's pretty much the same). Maybe we should pick somewhere where no one lives, just to keep things even how about rome? My wife and I might be going there next year anyway . Seriously, though, if it's in CA, I very well might be able to go, that's only 6 hours from here by car.

L.A. would be a good choice. If a gathering is held there, count me in. It's only 6 hours by car, but seeing as how Southwest sometimes runs airfare from Phoenix to L.A. for $39 each way, flying becomes cheaper than driving. -Brendan

Why do you guys need a concert as an excuse to come to LA? If the purpose is to meet and hang out, you can do that without the pain in the ass that is the Hollywood Bowl!

There are other concerts than those at the Bowl. I'm personally looking forward to the HSO concert coming up next month. Sorry I didn't meet up with you for this past weekend...I went to section E just after the national anthem and enjoyed the Bernstein and Elfman. Looked around a little bit but didn't see you there, but there were a lot of rows. Pity...I'd brought you a copy of Masada original tracks. Oh well...next time we meet. Cool concert tho'. You won't be at Video Games Live this Thursday will you? I'm not sure if any of the music will be good or not because I don't know what they're playing. Yavar

Screw Hollywood! Let's have it in Fargo! Freezing my ass off Minnesota or bright and sunny LA filled with great bars, restaurants and fine women... Tough choice!

That's ok, I pretty much got there right when it started and left right when it was over. The person I was with had to get back. Yes I will be there. I'm participating in the "meet & greet." I think it starts at 5:30 or something. I have no idea what they are playing.
