I don't get it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kib05Ip6GSo&feature=userStep 1: Stare at camera. Step 2: Get viewed by half-a-million people. On the plus side, from some of her other 38 videos it appears she's learning Japanese - she might be just the girl for you, Muckle. ;D -Brendan Where the FUCK is step 3.) Profit!!!??

How many times do we have to see that damn "Downfall" clip with stupid subtitles of other dumb things? We've seen the 360 vs PS3 version, the HDDVD vs Blu-Ray one, and now an NFL one? God this clip was old a year ago! I'm sorry, Chris, but you asked for it. I made this just for you.

I hate it when videogames take themselves so darn seriously. It's as if the developers are targeting the Comic Book Guy demographic. This is the same crap that made its way into Twilight Princess.

I actually love it when video games take themselves seriously -- that's what makes, say, Mass Effect and Bioshock great.
However, there's something wonderfully stupid about a Nintendo game taking itself seriously. Especially if it's Smash Bros.

Actually, the development of games as a proper art form is indeed what makes products such as Mass Effect great, but I'm speaking in general about the lame epic chorus and cheap slow-mo that plagues previews and, sometimes, the game itself to build hype. Seriously, what the hell is this (for example)? And why do people sallivate over it?

Seriously, what the hell is this (for example)? Why, it is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with that project, of course. Seriously, if Duke Nukem Forever actually comes out this year and turns out to be a great game, I will quite literally eat my words. I will print out this post, sprinkle on some salt and eat it. And I will put all this on YouTube. That's how sure I am it is going to suck.

Best... game... ever. At the very least, the best fighter ever. Waiting another month for the release is going to be torturous; especially knowing that Japan will be playing it in just a couple days. -Jockolantern

Kind of a different vibe for the Smash Bros. series though. The seriousness of the visual look is far more of a front for the style of gameplay then anything else; I would dare say the Smas Bros. series, as a whole, has not taken itself too seriously. It just makes for one heckuva' sleek, amped up fighter... Nintendo style. Twilight Princess did, however, take itself a bit too seriously and the results were not always pleasant. Not as bad as Ocarina of Time (I'm one of two people on the face of the earth who hates that game) but still could've used some polish. The last Zelda game I truly loved was The Minish Cap. Oh and Twilight Princess' awfully outdated-sounding and unfitting score didn't help matters. -Jockolantern

Though I really liked that intro (enough to post it here, at least), I usually couldn't care less about whatever candy-colored, childish nonsense Nintendo is crapping out at any given moment. Truth be told, I don't know who half those characters are.
Always been a PC gamer at heart.

Though I really liked that intro (enough to post it here, at least), I usually couldn't care less about whatever candy-colored, childish nonsense Nintendo is crapping out at any given moment. Truth be told, I don't know who half those characters are. Always been a PC gamer at heart. My deepest roots still reside with Nintendo and I've grown up with all those characters; only a couple of them a bit too modern for me to be somewhat unfamiliar with. Nothing wrong with a game with more youthful flair (the latest example being the spectacular Mario Galaxy), but there are plenty of those candy-colored games on the Wii that are highly unnattractive. But, on the whole, Nintendo has made very wise decisions for the console thus far and has featured some truly fantastic titles. If one system is proving that it needs a little injection of that youthful exhuberance and color, it's the PS3. Smash Brothers Melee made me fall in love with multiplayer all over again after the Halo fascination disintegrated and I and my closest Smash Bros. friends have poured easily twice the amount of time into Smash as we ever did with Halo. I'm counting on that trend starting anew with Brawl. I do love my PC games (playing a lot of WoW lately), but I've generally been a console guy. The glory years of my favorite PC titles have long since past and many of the best modern PC titles end up getting ported to the consoles regardless. PC games are not what they used to be; although if there's one game I hope sets me straight on that, it's Starcraft II. -Jockolantern
