Call me crazy, but I have yet to truly enjoy a Wii game -- yes, even the new Metroid and Mario Galaxy. It's mostly because of the control schemes, which you may remember me ranting about on several occasions. It took me years to adjust to standard game controllers after growing up on a mouse and keyboard, and I can't say I find the strange stick waggling of the Wii any more precise or intuitive. If I was somehow allowed to use my old Gamecube controller with it, Mario Galaxy might even have made it on my top ten of 2007, but as it stands I'd much rather play, say, the Orange Box... or Mass Effect... Bioshock... Call of Duty 4... Unreal Tournament III... Drake's Fortune... Rock Band... most of the decent X-Box 360 or PS3 games, really. The fact that the Wii's graphics look like ass on my 42-inch LCD doesn't help much, either. Anyway, sorry about the rant. I don't mean to start another flame war. Just felt like expressing my honest opinion in this case. Let's get back to teh funny YouTube videos. ... Since we've done oldies but goodies in this thread before, does anyone else here remember Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series? If you don't, just let me tell you that it is arguably the single greatest thing ever. It used to be on YouTube but was very infamously taken down. Now it resides at yugiohtheabridgedseries.com. If you haven't seen it, do. Just do.

It took me years to adjust to standard game controllers after growing up on a mouse and keyboard, and I can't say I find the strange stick waggling of the Wii any more precise or intuitive. My roommate's the same way; he just can't get the control scheme to work for him. I think it's a breeze and I would much rather play an FPS in the style of Metroid Prime 3 than with a joystick or a mouse/keyboard. First-person gaming feels so incredibly natural with the Wii controls and playing Halo 3 just a few days after experiencing Prime 3 for the first time was... a bit jarring. I look forward to playing Orange Box and Bioshock once I get a better PC actually capable of letting those games perform up to specs. Drake's Fortune looks good, but I'd rather pass and play a new Insomniac title (Resistance 2, Ratchet & Clank: ToD), and I simply don't feel like dropping all the money for Rock Band just yet. Maybe one day. Compared to the 720/1080 PS3 and 360, yeah. But the fact that we get to experience even games like those on the Wii in such stellar definition, color, and size is quite the advancement from the old days of playing my NES/SNES on our little 20" standard TV. Viewing the Wii on a high-def LCD bears little difference then viewing a higher definition PS3/360 game on the same screen... to my eyes, at least. All three look equally impressive and I see no reason to quibble over minor resolution details, particularly having just upgraded from a little 22" piece of crap television. I do remember that series... in America. -Jockolantern

I simply don't feel like dropping all the money for Rock Band just yet. Maybe one day. Believe me, it's a worthy purchase. With all the different instruments and game modes, you're getting a whole lot of game for your money. Lord knows I've been playing it regularly for MONTHS now, which isn't anything I could say about any other game, besides possibly an MMO. Viewing the Wii on a high-def LCD bears little difference then viewing a higher definition PS3/360 game on the same screen... to my eyes, at least. I don't intend to be mean or start another argument, but maybe you need to have your eyes checked. Seriously, I bet it's time for you to get stronger glasses.

But anyway, since I mentioned Deadfall in the "Worst Of..." thread, I think it fitting to post the following clips. Behold Nic Cage in all his hammy glory: Worst Movie Scenes of All Time Episode 11: DEADFALL (1 of 2) Worst Movie Scenes of All Time Episode 11: DEADFALL (2 of 2)

Why does Nic Cage's abominable performance in Deadfall remind you of Cameron's Avatar, Dr. Doom? Apart from the fact that both Cage and Biehn are awful actors, what's the relation?

Well, I am probably due for another trip to the optomitrist... I'll get back to you when I've done so and have new, improved vision. -Jockolantern

That or look at a better TV, certainly. I have far from perfect vision, but the difference in quality seems tremendous to me.

That really just reminds me how how much I hate "Family Guy".

Since we're talking of cats -- for those of you not yet familiar with it -- Lasagna Cat bears recommending. Well, I just spent the last hour watching all of those things. I could not resist. The crazed brilliance is too compelling. Harry Potter quick summary: youtube.com/watch?v=csG2vzZD13cCovert Operatives: youtube.com/watch?v=3UpJH_1y7ls
