Yeah, I'm watching the TV coverage on KCAL9 right now. It's a circus. Sad, though, he was a talented guy.

Once again, I find it hard to get emotionally involved by a celebrity's death. It's not as if they're immune to old age, accidents or diseases.

So a washed up, alien looking, creatively bankrupt, child molester has died. Boo hoo.

Washed up? Yes. But the mark he left upon modern pop culture can't be denied. Sad news, and about Farrah Fawcett too.

Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon's deaths had more of an effect on me.

I agree with Jon. Even though some may not have understood his actions (me included), he is still the biggest pop star of all time. It's kinda like Elvis has died. King of Rock and Roll and the King of Pop. I loved Michael Jackson's music, dancing, style...he was just socially way out of the norm. It's a real shame too, seeing as he was about to do his comeback/final tour.

The only way this has affected me is that I doubt I'll EVER be able to find a copy of Moonwalker for Sega Genesis...

Yes, and he has been recognized for his fantastic contributions, but he wore out his welcome over a decade ago. So a washed up, alien looking, creatively bankrupt, child molester has died. Boo hoo. Yeah, so he deserved to die. Let's be reminded Jackson was never charged for child molestation, nor was there any real proof. I for one never believed it. This is a guy who had no real childhood and was socially weird with adults. The only people he could really speak to were children. Children are not so quick to judge you. There is no question he was a strange personality. But people often described him as a child-like person. And when you are an adult and you like to hang with kids people start to ask questions. And then the parents of those kids start to think, gee, we can make some money off this by suing him. Let's face it, Jackson surrounded himself around people who abused him, from his childhood to when he was an adult. Everyone wanted a piece of Jackson's fame and wealth. Those are the people who make me sick. Jackson's loss is huge. A great talent and entertainer. We haven't lost someone like this since the likes of Elvis. And he had his own ups and downs in life. But people only remember the ups. The same will be said for Jackson. And I'm sure the Jackson sightings will happen eventually. Joe

That just makes me wonder how much effort it would take to have your face surgically altered to look like him....
