So a washed up, alien looking, creatively bankrupt, child molester has died. Boo hoo.
I see someone's not a fan of aliens. All kidding aside, Jackson had an interesting, yet alien life and career. It was fascinating, disturbing, and unique.
Jackson was never going to top Thriller, but a "washed up, creatively bankrupt" artist can still resurrect a hit. The guy was able to make the switch, from a teenage star to an adult one, and he did have number one hits in three different decades so ....
Yes, and he has been recognized for his fantastic contributions, but he wore out his welcome over a decade ago.
So, Michael Jackson should have died a decade ago? Anyway, your post made me think about the trajectory of an artist's career. I'm not an artist, so my perspective is limited. Does an artist ever become creatively bankrupt? Does the well of idea's ever dry up? Anyway, performance-wise, Jackson was past his prime, but I was going though YouTube clips, and the guy was still a mesmerizing performer in 2001.
Let's be reminded Jackson was never charged for child molestation, nor was there any real proof. I for one never believed it. This is a guy who had no real childhood and was socially weird with adults. The only people he could really speak to were children...
Yeah, he was a star before puberty hit and he became a mega star is his twenties... but the guy is still a guy. The sexual drive is there. Joe, Jackson the performer, is different than Jackson the person. I don't recall hearing many stories about real-life Billie Jean's or Dirty Dianna's. It might be time to change your beliefs.
