This October, it looks like John Williams will be conducting the LA Philharmonic from the 16th to the 18th. An official playlist hasn't been provided yet, but this could make for a cool gathering on the West Coast. Any thoughts? www.laphil.com/tickets/performance_detail.cfm?id=3981-CG

I'd go. I have yet to go to Disney Hall...they just better do something more interesting than Star Wars: Main Titles...

I have a counter gathering offer. How about we all meet in Minnesota this weekend. It's going to be 20 below zero and I hear Ashley Simpson is going to be here!

If he does his own music (including Star Wars main title), I'm in.

That would be awesome. I haven't seen John Williams in person, or the WDCH. It's unlikely that I'd actually be able to make it, but I'll put it in my calendar just in case!

I'd definitely be up for that.

Don't forget about the June 13th John Williams concert in San Pedro. I'm definitely going to that one.

I'd definitely be up for that. Check your PM, Jonathan. Unless you already did and are giving me the silent treatment.

I probably should have added "famous last words" to that...
Right now, my fall schedule looks wonderfully empty and the fact that the concert's taking place over a weekend should make things easier to schedule. Now...I have to get a ticket, find a cheap flight, and arrange for accomodation in a Motel 8 not far away from the venue, and I'll be all set.

Which of the 3 works best for everybody?

Which of the 3 works best for everybody? Saturday. (But again, there's probably only a 1% chance that I'd actually be able to make it in the first place.)

Any day the board's consensus chooses is fine with me. But seriously, we need to arrange this as soon and as well-prepared as possible. I can take a vacation leave, that one's for certain, on any week of October, but I need to update my visa status (and the U.S government is getting very annoying at who and who doesn't get in -- like I'm going to stay and pick up fruit for a living ) and familiarize myself with the area, what lodging options it has available, when to buy the tickets, what to wear (the only clothes that have ever fit me have been bought online from the Gap so I doubt there'll be any cross-cultural barriers there , but it's the weather and things like that that I worry about) and, you know, booking the flights and all. Sights to see. Landmarks to take pictures of myself in on sunny days, where the backdrop is perfectly lit and sharp, while poor ol' me in the foreground has been left in the shadow because the guy I lent the camera to has no clue of what he's doing. Things like that. ;D
