I saw this product when it was in its prototype stage and the promo video was bad enough at that time....but now it seems "Beamz" will be distributed by The Sharper Image who, for some inexplicable reason, saw fit to make an even MORE embarrassing and unintentionally hilarious marketing video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpDZ3WotLXYThe two "friendly" men playing Caribbean music together are by far the low point... -Brendan

How much control do these people actually have over the music and how do they know what movement or position will trigger what sound? I don't think I get how this works.

How much control do these people actually have over the music and how do they know what movement or position will trigger what sound? I don't think I get how this works. It's really just a glorified system of loops. The system has one rhythm track that starts and plays automatically, then each "laser beam" is connected to another track that can be layered on top of that rhythm - you can activate these tracks by interrupting the laser beam with your hand, fingers, or any other inappropriate body parts you can think of. The music attached to each laser beam is 'playing' all the time - when you put your hand in it basically just "un-mutes" that track so that you hear it. So you're really not doing anything other than muting and un-muting pre-composed multitrack elevator music. =lame. But because "lasers" are involved, we're supposed to freak out and pay large sums of money for it... -Brendan p.s can anyone explain to me why it says "More Cowbell!" at 2:48? There is certainly no cowbell in the music being played...and I didn't see Christopher Walken anywhere....

That product holds no appeal for me, and the add campaign is embarassing...I can't believe I watched all of it...

So you're really not doing anything other than muting and un-muting pre-composed multitrack elevator music. Bah. I figured there was no actual performance aspect to the thing. Worthless.

That was the lamest thing I've ever seen. It looks stupid, you look stupid using it. It has to be the dumbest idea since the creation of Recording Artists Against Drunk Driving (RAADD).

Jangles/Jens/Mike's dream girl? Hell yes. Did you watch all of her videos? Equally impressive. Yeah, I saw that on Facebook too. I was laughing out loud at it (being I hate lost more than words can describe and it is the most ridiculous show I've ever seen!). The guy that made it should get the highest honor given out by this country. That being said: notice how hot Shannon/Maggie Grace looks and sounds when she says, "what?" about :57 seconds into the clip! -Nate

Did you watch all of her videos? Equally impressive. I like when she plays Van Halen. As does my penis.
