Whoa, I didn't realize First Contact was coming so soon! My favorite Trek film second only to The Wrath of Khan. I'm all over this. And I had no idea there would be a " Jerry Goldsmith: A Tribute" feature. What's that like, Jens?
Mwahahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... YOU'RE STUCK HERE!!!

Too busy posting here and listening to Robots. However, now that I know it must be watched immediately! I'll get back to you! Mwahahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... YOU'RE STUCK HERE!!! This reminds me: I received your CDs a few days ago. Thanks a bunch. Good use of trolls...

Amazon.com is amazing for pre-ordering stuff. They actually ship it days before it's supposed to be out so it comes the day after the release date (except for Warcraft III, grrrrr).
Man, I just spend 100.00 there myself.
Brazil (movie) Fable-Russell Shaw, Danny Elfman Providence-Miklos Rozsa (damn import, I got the package a week after I ordered it!) Ragtime-Randy Newman Robotech Invasion-Jesper Kyd

Amazon is great indeed! And Joe what do you think of ROBOTECH INVASION? I bought his HITMAN 2 : Silent Assassin some time ago and i was really amazed. Thinking of purchasing this one as well...is it worth it?

"Jerry Goldsmith: A Tribute" feature. What's that like, Jens? It's quite lovely, Jon. It combines recent interviews with Johnathan Frakes, Jay Chattaway, Berman, etc. (talking in great lenght about just how amazing Goldsmith was) with the interview material originally recorded for the "enhanced" soundtrack CD (Jerry and Joel) and countless snippets from the various Trek films, highlighting memorable moments from the scores. The thing goes on for only just over twenty minutes, but it is a very moving tribute indeed. Brought a tear to my eye.

Thinking of purchasing this one as well...is it worth it? Robotech Invasion is kinda weak, after hearing what Kyd's capable of w/ the Hitman series (Hitman II is one of the best game scores ever). It's following the Freedom Fighters style of electronic scoring w/ a live choir, but it's too technoey for my taste. On a good day, I'd give it 3 out of 5 (because the main title is great). Is Hitman II the only Kyd score you have? If so, I'd reccomend getting something like The Nations (lynnemusic.com is where I got mine) or Freedom Fighters even (music4games.net), or waiting for La La Land Records to release Hitman Codemane 47 (which I personally can't wait for). But then again, Robotech is a lot more commercially accessable, and probably cheaper too.......

aamazon.fr (or .de , for that matter, but only occasionally) isn't bad either. It's a great way to get American books (and sometimes CD's) at a good price (especially given the $/euro rate), and without having to worry about the mail getting "lost" (read: "stolen"-- parcels don't get lost, dropped along the way or behind some piece of furniture).

aamazon.fr (or .de , for that matter, but only occasionally) isn't bad either. The only time I ever used Amazon.fr was to get Wiseman's Arsène Lupin. However, I do order from Amazon.co.uk all the time. They are completely reliable and ship surprisingly fast. Plus, it's the only way to get shows like Spaced or Black Books over here.

Now, a great Amazon.com-like store (some might say the site design and structure's a downright steal) for getting Asian DVDs, such as the remarkable Studio Ghibli Limited Edition DVD Collection or Stephen Chow's hilarious "Watch Me" series, is YesAsia.com. If you like Asian films, anime, music, collectibles, etc. there's no better place to go.
