Freaks and Geeks (Highly recommended. I think a lot of you guys would like it) Seconded. While I regrettably failed to include it on my previous list, Freaks and Geeks is indeed one of the greatest depictions of teen life, love and angst ever caught on screen. Highly, highly recommended.

I don't watch television that much. Apart from Seinfeld reruns and Letterman, Leno, Conan... There is not much to watch. No, wait... Yes there is. Only the best freakin' show in television NOBODY is watching! ARReSTeD DeVeLOPMeNT Of course, one of my favorite shows ever will be cancelled because of all the witless who roam the Earth. Bah!

Hook, I watch Arrested Development and it's a shame that Fox pulls the plug. However ... the fact that you like Seinfeld ... If you think Arrested Development and Conan are funny, I supposed you have a good taste of humour ... weird. Btw. Check my first posts ... I already said, I watch AD.

(in no particular order) [glow=blue,2,300]Recent / Current TV series[/glow] 24We got season 2 a few months ago-- two episodes at a time AliasSeason 3, a few months ago; the stupid channel aired them by threes, so that it was over in a month or so, and we'll have to wait 10 months for the next installment-- and by then, naturally, everything is forgotten E.R.I don't remember the season number-- Romano's exit, Carter's wedding Same as 24: two at a time, thus little less than a year's wait BoomtownStopped a few weeks ago evn though there were only 6 episodes left. I don't understand why it was cancelled; I like it a lot The 4400 (not sure that's the correct title) As usual, two episodes at a time; I was surprised to learn there were only 6 in all; finale next week [glow=blue,2,300]What I have on DVD[/glow] The X-FilesHaven't finished watching Season 7, haven't bought the end yet. I actually missed several episodes of & the end of the last season on TV, due to the ever-changing schedules. ST:TNGHaven't gotten around to finishing watching Season 7-- and I'm missing it Band of BrothersExcellent. Haven't watched the DVD's yet, though-- no time. Twin PeaksWonderful. When will they give us the pilot (R1) & Season 2 ?! I'm tired of these petty quarrles, scams and delays. The Twilight Zone-- The Definitive EditionStarted watching the first disc. I don't know them all, by far. 24My new laptop came with Season 2 of the show Davy CrockettI have all of the splendid Disney Treasures DVD's. This one brought back some sweet childhood memories--late '70's- early '80's. Albator ('78 & '84)That's Captain Harlock's French name. An excellent series. I haven't had time to watch the second one yet. I remembered only a few images but knew I loved it. Most probably my favorite childhood series. Capitaine FlamThat's Captain Future. Very good, too. I remembered a lot more from that series. [glow=blue,2,300]What I would like to buy on DVD[/glow] Star TrekAll of them-- every series, that is Batman-- The Animated SeriesI few episodes I have seen were really good, and I loved the style [glow=blue,2,300]What I would like them to release on DVD[/glow] ColumboNot just Season 1, the whole thing Steven Spielberg's Amazing StoriesThere seemed to be a rumor a few months ago that it might eventually get released this year. Tales From the CryptLike Amazing Stories, it's long overdue. What are they thinking? How can they doubt the success of such a great show? lvier

Actually, I can't decide which show is better .... Angel or Buffy.
Buffy set the standard, that's for sure ...
I still LIKE Buffy a bit more. The series, not her in person.

I liked Buffy too. Interesting take on the monsters; the series didn't take itself too seriously, actually played with a few conventions. I've never seen a single episode of Angel-- actually, I don't think it's been available on regular channels, or maybe in such a way I couldn't watch nor tape. www.slayage.tv/ has lots of essays on the series.

Ok folks, seems I have to add at least 2 shows to my "current" list:
1.) HOUSE ... damn good show and Hugh Laurie's american accent is incredible.
2.) DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ... the show knocked me off my feet. It has all the right ingrediences that Picket Fences, Ally MacBeal etc. had and adds some major mystery factor. Also ... Danny Elfman's theme and Steve Jablonsky's work is great and fits like a glove.
Finally ... it seems that quality TV isn't dead. Thank god.

Right now the only new show I keep up with every week is Battlestar Galactica.
My favorite shows are DS9, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and Cowboy Bebop.
If I had the money to spare for box sets, I would watch the entire runs of Deep Space Nine, Batman: The Animated Series and Bablylon 5 on DVD.
DVD sets I do have are 3 volumes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and the whole Cowboy Bebop series. Aqua Teen is hilarious.
Other shows I like and watch when I get a chance are Fawlty Towers, Newsradio, Star Trek: TNG, Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles... and others I'm forgetting. I like the Daily Show and Conan O'Brien when I catch them.
I would love to buy the 80's series Hardcastle and McCormick if it ever came out on DVD, because it has car crashes and Brian Keith, who was awesome.

". . . don't leave 6 month old Ganymede Lobster in the Fridge."
Jon --
You are now officially my hero for the week (maybe the month . . . but there's probably only a week left, and I don't do this sort of thing retroactively, so I'll just stick to a week, thank you very much, and hope you enjoy this brief moment in the sun). Sure, Bebop rules . . . that goes without saying. But I thought I was the only one in this universe who liked Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
I salute you with my fry.

PS -- As per otaku regulations, I am hereby obligated to reply to your "Tetsuuuuooooo!" moniker with an emphatic "Kanedaaaaaa!" or else incur the wrath of anime fans everywhere.

Oh, man. Forgot Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Count me in with the rest of the gang:
"Those are the markings."
"Toys were made into recognizable shapes and given names like 'train', but these toys were also thrown at predators and defecated upon because they were so stupid."
"Yeah, well, I noticed this long cord comin' from my house, then I noticed your house, glowin' like the freakin' sun. So I put two and two together and decided - you're pissin' me off."
"You know, Happy Time Harry, just being around you kinda makes me want to die." ~Hook's Seal of Priceless Approval
"Oh, these? No no no, these are not spikes; they are pointy arms."
"[...] and me stop to use bathroom as opposed to me just doing it as me walk."
"I'm not finished. You should have gotten a snack."
I love that show. I also like the occassional Scrubs (minus the "message").

Speaking of Adult Swim ...
I love "Harvey Birdman, Attourney at law"!
And an occasional fix of "Sealab 2021".
Weirdly, I don't like Space Ghost at all ...

Since I have been a notorious time-shifter since the advent of the VCR, I rarely watch TV in real-time (i.e., as it is being broadcast). I prefer to record programs (now onto a DVD recorder) and watch them later, or buy the boxset TV shows years later. TV Shows I have purchased on DVD (most - if not all - are "old" shows): - Ballykissangel (expensive - still want the 3rd Series that just came out last week)
- Monarch of the Glen (expensive - only the 1st two seasons are available so far)
- Eerie, Indiana (rather inexpensive)
- Roswell (bought this sight unseen when Amazon had the 1st Season for $15. It's, well...OK)
- 24 (also bought this sight unseen for $15 also, but gave it away as a Christmas present. I was told I should have given away Roswell instead. Have yet to see an episode of 24)
- The Beverly Hillbillies (an incredibly cheap reproduction - doesn't even have the original Lester Flatts and Earle Scruggs theme song! - for $5.50)
- The Twilight Zone Complete Series
- Rocky and Bullwinkle - 1st Season (don't think I'm buying anymore of them)
- Absolutely Fabulous (pretty much have all episodes, either on VHS or DVD. Not going to replace the ones I have only on VHS)
- Futurama (3rd and 4th Season...I think. Got them pretty cheap at Best Buy here in the States with purchase of a Simpsons boxset. Both Simpsons and Futurama for $30)
- Curb Your Enthusiasm (Season 2, 2nd disc, used)
There are many past TV shows I have seen (on DVD) and liked, but I don't own them. Here's a few: - Monk - 2nd Season (haven't seen the 1st)
- Tales of the Unexpected - 1st Season
- The Outer Limits Complete Series (original '60's shows)
- Black Adder (thanks, Jens!)
- Seinfeld (didn't watch them originally. The first I ever saw was the very last episode - at a party for it!)
- Six Feet Under
Would like to see these shows sometime: - Battlestar Galactica (all of it!)
- Star Trek (also all of it!)
- Voyager (maybe)
I guess I must admit - I rarely watch anything current.
