A German movie about National-Socialistic Political Education Institutions. Very good movie about a very difficult topic. Good performances by the mostly young actors. Very disturbing, moving, and depressing as many movies of this ilk are. Five stars.
Good, although subdued score by Normand Corbeil with themes by Angelo Badalamenti. Four stars.

I'm still hesitiating to watch it.
Afterall ... I can't stand films like that anymore.
They make me angry, pull me down and since we were bombarded with information about it all since pre-school ... I'm just fed up with that issue.
I'll probably watch it on video ... later.

German History in the first half of the 20th century is a hobby/interest of mine, so I approach this probably slight different from other people.
I can understand that people, like you, feel fed-up or over-informed by all this recent attention on the Third Reich, Auschwitz and the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2 (at least in Europe). But then again, when I look at what's happening in Saxony and how ill-formed A LOT of young people are, not only elsewhere, but in Germany as well, I think there cannot be enough of intelligent and accessible information about this topic.
