Damn, damn, damn.
Finally, after a long, long, looong time I came across a DVD of a movie I want to have so badly. The movie is called "The Dark" and it tells the tale of giant mutant killer gophers attacking random people. More importantly: it stars the ever lovely Neve Campbell. But, F**k you very much Germany, the film was dubbed in German and did not even have the original English soundtrack on it (no wonder it was only six euros).
I just wanted to scream (yes, pun intended).
And guess what? They don't have the darn DVD anywhere else.
*sob*

Mmmm. Neve Campbell dressed as a policewoman, and teenage mutant killer gophers. They don't make movies like that anymore!
Shame about the DVD...

That would piss me off, too. Not that I don't understand German, but the voices sound so... fake, once you are used to the real thing. And 4 years of English movies have done just that. I can have a look if the movie is in the stores here, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Sometimes though they have the weirdest stuff, like The Spitfire Grill. Nice movie! Now i just hope one day I will come across House of Cards.

No luck, sorry. I went through every single DVD, and saw everything you can think of and a lot more you can't, but not this one. I guess you'll have to wait and hope.

I just saw House of Cards Recently, and it was a really good movie, with good acting performances, and a good plot. I didn't see the very beginning, so I didn't know who the composer was. My own personal Composer Database thought that Zimmer had scored it, but while watching the movie I could tell it was Horner's Creation.
The score was in the same vien as Jack the Bear, but once again my mind could be off here because I don't have that score and I haven't seen that movie in awhile. House of Cards was also an intruiging score because it makes use of Horner's famous Sneakers/ Bobby Fisher/ Bic. Man/ Beautiful Mind motif/theme. Unfortunately this like one of the only unreleased Horner's score from the 90's. I would love to hear it outside of the movie.

It is indeed a Horner score and unfortauntely unreleased. I got some cues taken from the movie, but the quality is very bad (like recording onto a cassette tape put in front of crappy TV speakers) with dialogue. Nevertheless the music sounds really nice. I came across the house of Cards BBC TV series, but that is not the right thing...

Thanks for your trouble! Maybe, one day, when Neve Campbell is famous they'll release The Dark for curiousity's sake. Oh wait... she IS famous already... pete

Until that day I will watch out a bit... if I don't forget. After all the weirdest stuff shows up in that DVD store... Well, I did an extensive search on the internet and it simply doesn't seem to exist on dvd yet. pete.

C'mon man...you didn't search THAT hard obviously The Dark - AmazonHope that helps in some way or another!? Well, obviously I did see that, but a) I'm not paying 17,50 or more dollars while I've seen it for 5! b) I only -and I do mean ONLY- buy from established stores (so, I'm not buying it used from a source I don't trust. You'll never see me buy stuff off e-bay, for example, no matter how tempting it is). Thanks anyway! pete.

Good points indeed. I seem to be lucky with buying stuff from possibly not reliable sources, but am starting to get off the habit. On the other side it's not only tempting, but also a good deal most of the time, since a lot of people on ebay have access to the distributors directly, thus skipping a lot of profit makers. And by a lot, I mean a lot. A two-sided coin I've had to please to only see the positive side of this far.
