When I have no time to watch the movies in tv, and if there's some good film airing very late, I usually record them on my old Sharp VHS-recorder (do You guys in the era of DVD still use such archaic device? ). Anyway I taped few weeks ago french-russian and probably also UK co-production East-West (Est-Ouest) by french director Regis Wargnier. After seeing it, I must say it's a great cinema. If You like the romantic pics like Doctor Zhivago, human dramas mixed with love, politics and international settings, then probably You'll like it also. It has some very good acting performances, especially two leads - Sandrine Bonnaire and Russian star, Oleg Menchikov, which is great in this role. And also two very good supporting roles - Catherine Deneuve and Russian Sergei Bodrov, jr. which I saw in "Prisoner of the Caucasus" and "Brother". This movie should be titled "Endless Love" , but I won't tell You why, because it would be major spoiler Aha, and there is some score too By Patrick Doyle, I found it very good, especially the dynamic piano solos which leads into main theme performances, melodic, romantic theme that is just fine, but in few places I found Doyle's score a bit too melodramatic, but probably such was the idea of him and director. I recommending this movie. Great cinema
