I'm back! My latest film music review is of Pino Donaggio's elegant romantic score for director Brian De Palma's erotic thriller PASSION - the review just went live over at the website. moviemusicuk.us/2013/09/02/passion-pino-donaggio/ Enjoy! Jon

Yeah, but how many stars would you give it? ;-) Seriously, a lovely review of a lovely score. It's such a pleasure to have Donaggio and De Palma working together again.

Sad to say the only work by Mr. Donaggio I am really familiar with is this work from one of the best cheesy movies of the 1980s - The Lou Ferrigno version of "Hercules". Thank you Golan Globus. (and yes that is Donaggio's score playing in the background of the trailer)

Maybe it is just me, but I did not connect with Passion, almost at all. Sure, a few of the cues were really nice, but I could not get into it.

Hercules is a fun score. My favorite Donaggio effort is probably his score for De Palma's Blow Out (with Carrie coming in a close second).

Great review, Jon! Getting to the end, though, and having no star review was really disappointing. I knew you weren't going to assign one, but I was suprised at how sad I was to see no rating there. Like getting to the bottom of the Cracker Jack box and not finding the little prize.
