Instead of writing new reviews, for past week or so I have been working steadily on the archive, having found a way to access all the old review material I previously thought I had lost.
As it stands, the review archive now contains 927 reviews, including every "full" review written by me and my various guest reviewers since July 1999. Most of the "as heard in the film" reviews which featured on the site in the early 2000s haven't been added back yet, because I'm trying to decide which ones to include (some of them are very short); similarly, some of the very early reviews from the site's fledgling days in the second half of 1997 and early 1998 haven't been added in either because, frankly, the reviews are pretty appalling, and desperately need to be re-written.
But, anyway, almost 1,000 isn't bad right? The Review Archive indexes have been fully updated and split apart to show which reviews are available and which are not, and going forward more reviews will gradually make the migration over and go live once more. I hope some of you have some fun exploring the older reviews which you might not have read for several years - I know I enjoyed my little trip down amnesia lane, being inspired to revisit some scores I haven't listened to in years!
Thanks for reading,
Jon

Well done!
I keep meaning to transfer my old-style reviews into the Wordpress format, but whenever I do it and read any of my old reviews I decide they're so bad I don't want to do it, I want to rewrite them instead. Which I can't really be bothered to do.
I wish I had some ghostwriters.

I think you should definitely do some work your Goldsmith and Morricone ones, and get those refreshed and/or moved over into the new style. I was re-reading a lot of them when I was going through my "early Goldsmith" kick the other week, and they are absolutely invaluable, especially some of the more obscure things from the 60s and 70s that you tackled.

It will be nice to have access to these again. Are composer biographies coming back soon as well?

That's great news Jon. There were quite a few times I've gone to those old pages looking for additional opinions and haven't had luck. Looking forward to diving into some of those.

Simply outstanding news! Next we have to get you backed up to a Cloud to ensure your handiwork is safeguarded. As mentioned above, your composer Bios must be resurrected and updated. I am willing to help. We can talk it over next time you come over.
All the best!
