I am currently having my first experience with Armstrong's Great Gatsby score. I saw mention that the score album was just released on iTunes, so I decided to pick it up (I don't know if I have ever been let down by an Armstrong score; he is consistently excellent). I am blown away by this score so far; there is so much beauty, angst, heartbreak, honesty, tenderness...
I haven't seen the film, but it looked very intriguing and I am now completely planning on picking it up when it is released on blu-ray. This score is really one of Armstrong's best.

I found this score on Spotify (minus the "album only" tracks). It's pretty good! I love it when Armstrong writes music that's more in-your-face (like LOVE, ACTUALLY or ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE) and this album is certainly more like that than much of his output. Did I miss much not hearing the "album only" tracks? I listened to the sound clips on itunes and it seemed like those tracks were less noteworthy than the available ones anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I loved "Dream Violin." That track was achingly gorgeous.

I'll have to check this one out. Armstrong's definitely a hit-and-miss composer for me, and I didn't really expect the score to amount to much given that everyone seemed to be focusing on all of the Jay-Z-supervised song selections when it came to the soundtrack.
