I already have a WiiU that I got as a gift. So far it has tons of potential but Nintendo has really bungled the release of it. Not many quality games and only three first-party titles in nine months (haven't played Pikmin 3 yet, but the Mario game and Nintendoland are great games, but probably not system sellers or anything new). Lego City Undercover is an amazing game though and it is one of the handful of "must haves" for the system.
The tablet control works flawlessly and I like being able to play my games on the tablet while other people use the tv. Also, playing old-school Nintendo games from the Virtual Console is great. Stuff like Punch-Out, Mario 2, Metroid, etc. still hold up after nearly three decades.
The built-in social network, MiiVerse, is really fun too and you can post pictures from most games to the boards and make comments and ask questions and then go right back to your game with no loading time (PS4 and Xbox One are one-uping this with recordable gameplay).
I plan on saving up for a PS4 in the next few years. Easily the best deal out of all the next gen consoles for what you get, but Nintendo really innovated with the WiiU (they just don't know how to handle or implement it).

I remember you were very good on it too. I only/still have a PSP and only really play Pro Evo on it.

Me too. It just doesn't read discs anymore. That being said I've been playing PS2 game collections on my PS3. Ratchet and Clank games are so addictive! If you haven't already you should try a Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter game. Two of the best franchises on the PS2 (if not the best).

It will also be interesting to see how well these systems sell in a bad economy too:
WiiU: $350 PS4: $400 Xbox One: $500
If I didn't get the WiiU as a gift I certainly wouldn't have one right now. Even if I could afford it I couldn't justify spending that much money on a game system in an uncertain economy. Game developers are folding left and right and not taking many risks right now too.

There are a few on PS3 which I think are some of the best games on that console. Both "Tools of Destruction" and then "A Crack in Time" were phenomenal games. Probably the most fun I have had on the PS3 were playing those games.

Probably the most fun I have had on the PS3 were playing those games. I have "A Crack In Time" and it is definitely the top five games I have for PS3. I loved that game and actually got over 75% of the trophies. I still need to get "Tools of Destruction." If "Quest for Booty" wasn't still $15 for four hours of gameplay I'd get that too. Have you tried the Ratchet and Clank 10th Anniversary Collection? It has the original three PS2 Ratchet and Clank games redone in HD. The games still hold up today. I'm playing the first one right now and that came out over ten years ago! You can find it for $20 new most places. An amazing deal for three classic and really long games! It is a shame Insomniac seems to have sold out and gone to bed with EA. Seems like they are just making crappy shooters now. I don't know what they have in store for the PS4, but Ratchet and Clank on that system would be simply amazing! Nintendo is my favorite game company, but you really can't beat the three best developers in the industry right now (sometimes they make better games than Nintendo first party): Insomniac (Ratchet and Clank, Resistance series, the original Spyro games), Naughty Dog (Uncharted, The Last of Us, Jak & Daxter, the original Crash Bandicoot), and Sucker Punch (Infamous and Sly Cooper). All Sony developers. How Xbox has survived is beyond me. They have Gears of War and Halo. That's it. To me those really aren't very good games (not terrible either).

I have a Wii U - I'm quite pleased with the system itself, but yeah, the games just aren't there yet. Given the system's poor sales, I hope it survives long enough to actually receive some high-quality titles. Pikmin 3 does look delightful.
As for the others, if I get one, it will be the PS4. But honestly, I'm almost tempted to pick up a Nintendo 3DS and wait a year or two on the PS4 given the huge amount of quality games available for the former at this point. Decisions, decisions...

About a year ago I decided to build a gaming PC and that has been my primary gaming system of choice ever since. I still play a little bit of Playstation (and will probably get the PS4 eventually), and I just recently got into XBOX360 mainly to play with my mom and Grandma in Bejeweled

Given the system's poor sales, I hope it survives long enough to actually receive some high-quality titles. Pikmin 3 does look delightful. Yeah, I'm worried about Nintendo. Hopefully their Christmas and spring titles can move some systems. The new Mario, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers all look great, but I can see a lot of people thinking same old games. I just downloaded the Wonderful 101 demo and that is one well-polished game. If games can look like that on the WiiU they can definitely compete with the PS4 and Xbox One. That is a great strategy. It is always nice letting others be the first adopters of a new system until all of the hardware and software kinks are worked out. Plus, after spending $400 on a system it is quite painful to then plop down another $60 for a game. I'm the same way with the PS3. There are at least a dozen high-quality games I haven't gotten around to playing yet. That could easily take me through one or two years of gaming.

Here is a video of another cool Wii U feature: youtu.be/Mjb_fOwdDt4It is called Wii U Panorama View and you can use the gamepad to view a video in 360. You can look up, down, left, or right during a movie with no lag. It's quite amazing! Don't know how they will integrate this into games, but they have four video demos on the eShop for download. I have the six minute bird flight video and it is really cool. The score is memorable and soaring while you fly through Italy in a glider surrounded by a flock of geese. I wish I knew the composer! There is also Wii Street U by Google, which is basically a 360 street view tour of dozens of famous cities and landmarks around the world. Same as panorama view, just with pictures and not video: youtu.be/yfFO7OxEB10Hopefully Nintendo figures out how to integrate these into useful entertainment or into games. It would easily put them past their competitors with full immersion. And this just came out a few days agao: Wii U Art Academy: youtu.be/20PIyvj40lwYou can draw artwork on your gamepad and show it off on MiiVerse. People have done some amazing artwork already! A lot of stuff looks like photo-realistic paintings.
