One more before the weekend is over... Synchrotones reviews "Red 2" by Alan Silvestri. Read all about it (or as much as I could be bothered to write about it) at: synchrotones.wordpress.com/2013/08/04/red2/Thanks, <s>

Mark Mancina is back!! Okay, maybe never really went away, but he hasn't been attached to a (virtually garantueed) blockbuster like this in ages. It was well worth the wait... synchrotones.wordpress.com/2013/08/07/planesThanks,

I loved this score, as i wrote yesterday in facebook: Mark Mancina's latest is quite good actually: leitmotific, brass-led, great themes, fun and energetic, and with modern elements too (rock guitars, rhythmic percussion, tight drums, ostinati). Don't expect anything groundbreaking or new, but it surely is fun. itunes.apple.com/us/album/planes-original-motion-picture/id671063514

I agree. THE WOLVERINE was a tough one to like. I'll not be going back to it.

Eshkeri's score is short, but worth every penny. Lyrical, orchestral, with a strong classical influence. The songs by Emmy the Great are deliberately cheesy. Check out the review: wp.me/p3hOx4-5UThanks,

Eshkeri's score sounds like something I would really enjoy. I'll be getting it.

Synchrotones reviews The Paradise (BBC tv drama), music by Maurizio Malagnini. The show is a love-story set in and around a department story, the best part of a century ago. Custome drama. Lovely, innocent, totally charming and harmless entertainment. So is the music. Worth checking out, one of this year's hidden gems, imho. synchrotones.wordpress.com/Thanks!
