I don't think there's a Half Price Books anywhere in Colorado, but the record stores in Denver have a pretty good selection of stuff. I even found concert works by Rozsa and Korngold.
Unfortunately, I never graduated. For the last two years I'd been doing one quarter at about 20 credit hours and then the next two only part-time. I'd finally gotten into the composition program at the beginning of the 2008 school year, and so I have probably one more year to go before I can get my degree. What the hell good that will do me, I don't know....

Joe, if you happen to want to listen to music that you can´t afford just now, drop a line. I don´t buy too much stuff (definetely not Williams), but maybe I could send you some CDrs (If I manage to install a CD burmer on this thing).
Sorry about the insurance issues. And though I myself am skeptic about what degrees are useful for, I lately have arrived to the conclussion that it has something to do about inner willing and prove oneself "endurance", so to speak.

I don't feel alive. I feel so screwed because I have thousands of dollars worth of medical bills, can't go back to college, and I'm working at freaking Domino's. There's always music, right? As for my situation, I couldn't pay my tuition, so they put a hold on my account. Then, I went into the hospital, but Ohio State froze my health insurance and wouldn't pay the bills. Now, I have a lot of crap to work off.... I hope your situation improves Joe. Are you better health-wise/ medical-wise? I'm not sure what would be worse: medical bills or college bills... though the medical bill harassment might be outrageous. It could help you with music teaching, right? I don't want to be as nosy as Nate ;D but have you reached the age of being a Dependent? It might be cheaper to attempt to go back to school then, or is the college thing just totally undo-able at the moment? -CG PS: Alive, wasn't that James Newton Howard?

Alive and well! Finally settled in to the new place and the new job down here in California. Loving the weather, the people, the places, everything! Just not the wedding/honeymoon debt and the soon-to-be-due college loans.
Gonna have to try to get together real soon Jon!

Thanks, guys for the encouragement. I'm the picture of physical health...well, maybe not aesthetically...but I have managed to lose 30 lbs, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Jorgen, I'm always up for trading cdr's, but I left 90% of my cd's back in Ohio with my dad. I have some rock cd's with me and about 200 lp's which I need to transfer to my computer at some time. If you're still interested, drop me a PM and I'll give you a list of what I have. I've always thought of degrees as something that were important to other people, like anyone who would want to hire me. Of course, I had some pretty important classes left, like orchestration and 2nd tier form & analysis. Plus, I just miss college! There were always people willing to perform your own meager compositions for no compensation, and many of them were young and attractive! Carlton: If I understand your question correctly, I was actually under my dad's healthcare until I turned 23, then started paying for it through the university (500.00 per quarter; wasn't all that bad really). I just don't know how to juggle paying back debts while also trying to go to school full-time. I even have Federal Student Loans on my ass trying to get THEIR money back too, plus bills from two hospitals (that I can't pay yet, after a year), and tuition. With all that hovering over my head, it's hard to do anything but work and pay it off. Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to go back to school, but until then, the absolute most I can hope for is finding a local composer who needs an assistant of some sort....at least that would be better than working at Domino's!

I don´t have a list of my CDs just now (the lap where I had it broke down. We´re supposed to do a copy into a hard drive sometime soon, but truth is we haven´t done it yet). Anyway, if you want something that pops-up into your head, ask. I almost don´t have golden age music (not too interested, just don´t know if it´s because I don´t like that kind of music or to avoid bankrupcy whenever my almost completist-me decides to listen to all CDs by X composer), but maybe I happen to have something you are interested in (How to train your dragon? Intrada´s Predator? something by Delerue....?) And don´t worry about trading. Just send me a PM if you want something I could have.

I'm still alive, too, though I've started a doctoral degree in education and that's taking up some time.
Sorry to hear about your problems, Joe.
As far as score collecting goes I've only heard a few scores from 2010, but I keep buying stuff slowly and steadily. Recently I've purchased the Arista Star Wars box that Erik is always raving about. It's a good set full of music that takes me back to my childhood.

I'm still here but not really listening to a whole lot. I got the new recordings of Exodus and Lawrence (which are great!) and I got the reissue of Krull...but I'm not nearly as die-hard as I used to be.

To answer the question in OP: barely.
Anyway, just a couple of hours ago I saw, under "Active users in the past 24 hours", this: 5 users, 99 guests.
Seriously, film score fans are the shyest demographic I've ever known.

Damn that real life.
*wistfully reflects upon a more innocent time - a time when I genuinely looked forward to a new Hans Zimmer CD*

Ah, that's the thing: I'm not going to school, and it's killing me. I'm not likely to go back to school until I pay back tuition bills, plus all the others, and to top it all off, I haven't been an official resident for a full year yet.
I mean, I could quite complaining and go out and find some indie films that need a composer, but so much of my time is taken up with a POS job that in no way reflects what I want to do with my life. I'm just barely surviving out here...
