I'm wearing purple. I'm not Irish, I'm English.

Oh, ok.... some sort of Irish holiday? I was at home playing Final Fantasy XIII, so I missed it.

You've lived how long in the United States, and you've never heard of St. Patrick's Day?

You've lived how long in the United States, and you've never heard of St. Patrick's Day? I've lived in the US for nine years now. I guess I've heard St. Patrick's Day mentioned once or twice, but I've never really given it much thought. It's not a proper holiday anyway if I still have to go to work. I drink myself silly on a regular basis already, don't really need another reason.

This is one of the stranger American traditions for me (along with President's Day = car and furniture sales). Is St. Patrick's Day more of an (Northern) East Coast kind of thing? And all you have to do to celebrate is drink? What makes it different than any NFL Sunday?

In the rest of the country, if you don't wear green you get pinched.

People whe pinch me get a smack in the mouth. I think that would actually be classified a hate crime in this situation given the racial implications of it all... The suffering the Irish people have endured at the hands of the Lucky Charms leprechaun alone has got to be worth millions in reparations...
