Hey, I'm listening to "The World Became the World" by Premiata Forneria Marconi. Just want to start some discussion. I got that album and "Per un Amico" from a record store in a guy's house (5.00 each, and on vinyl no less).
Oh yeah, when I was still working at the cd store in Ohio, I once put on Goldsmith's Rambo First Blood Pt. II score....amazing! One of my favorites now. Our sound system was pretty good and boy did it sound nice. A good stereo can make all the difference to listening to scores. I don't want to go back to my boom box days now that I've heard the light...
I feel like this board is dying. There aren't enough new posts and no good discussions going on anymore. Everyone looks but no one posts anymore it seems. Do I have to go back to Filmtracks? I don't really want to but I will if I have to...

Arggggggg. Are there any new cd's/films coming out with new stuff from Horner, or JW, or even Zimmer? Right now, there's not much to say. I finally brought a new cd today, "Howard Shore: Collector's Edition Vol. 1." It sounds like an interesting cd. Apparently, there will be more volumes to come, so we should have something to talk about. -CG

I remember looking at that over at amazon. Does it have any concert works, or is it just a collection of unreleased cues?

I don't really want to but I will if I have to... I've felt that way too for a while. So, if we're all sitting around whining about how we don't talk about film music any more, why don't we just start talking about it? Some suggestions: 1. When you're listening to a film score, post about it in the now playing thread. Don't just tell us the cue, but talk about it. 2. Decide on a score or composer that you'd like to discuss and start a thread about him. Or dig up an old thread about them and say something new. 3. When you hear about a new assignment, new release, or re-release, say something about it, even if you don't know anything about it. At least that may get the ball rolling. These seem like pretty simple things, but if we all did them we could actually have some good discussion around here. I'll think I'll go start a thread right now...

I'm listening to it a lot less than I used to. My problem is time. Life got really busy for me (second child born during the summer, in the middle of a master's program). I still listen to it whenever I can - usually listening to some of my favorites during dinner, ect.
Why are you not listening to film music anymore, Joe?

I have been seduced by the Dark Side...rock & roll...
Plus, I just don't have the money to buy a lot of stuff right now, especially new cd's. And of course, film scores are sucking these days.
I've become a lot more of a film buff though.
