The landscape shots and the machinery/vehicles look cool. The people... meh. I remain willing to be convinced.

I hate to say this but... I agree with Hitler on this one.

"Glossed up Land Before Time 3."
Brilliant. I'm with Hitler on this one too, sadly.

I liked the Avatar trailer. The effects were a bit too similar to Attack of the Clones, but I can see that Cameron is trying to create a world dominated by colour - something new for him. I'm hoping that the story is a strong one - his scripts tend to be pretty good in that respect. let's just hope that he concentrated on the story as much as the effects. I have no problem with the blue-skin aliens looking a little human. After all, it helps to give us an emotional attachment to them. With any luck, post-production will give them more texture and subtlety.
Thanks to whoever put that link in with the Parnassus trailer - now _that_ looks weird. Gotta see that!

Why is everyone going on about the Avatar trailer? Did you actually EXPECT this movie to be good? Cameron has maybe three good films under his belt and they're almost all over 20 years old now. It's like the Hitler video...why do people want to believe so badly when the facts say so clearly that this is nothing special?

The second trailer is out.
And it looks just as benign as the first. I remain completely unimpressed.
