I missed it! I missed the frickin' inauguration, for chrissakes. I even missed Williams. Ugh.
Anyway, with the passage of time I've grown very confident of Obama and I'm actually hopeful for the future. I mean, not hopeful, I know things are going to sink and collapse upon themselves and wreak havoc upon the world both in terms financially and militarily, but I think this man can handle the job. I am really hopeful of that.
At the very least, "he makes this look good". So, my words: Don't fuck this up, Obama.

Thought the speech was a very impressive one... I'm encouraged to know that the top guy in Washington is going to be a responsible adult for a change. Also, the John Williams piece was wonderful... I hope it's being released in some form (whether via iTunes or on CD).
Back at ya later

Obama is clearly trying to win over the much sought after film-score enthusiast. Not a bad start.
I'm not really excited about Obama, because I doubt anything will really change, but I'm happy that Bush is out. Obama seems to at least be contemplative and competent, which is a very welcomed change.

The Williams piece was OK, nothing great.

A change in my paycheck is something I (unfortunately) believe in, at least with Obama in office.

You mean you'll be one of the millions of Americans who get one, as opposed to the (currently) thousands of Americans who don't?

Where is he going to get the money for his stimulus plan? He is always so vague about things like this.
For one, he is probably going to cut some government projects, which I am guessing would directly cut hundreds of jobs where I live, and probably indirectly (because of trickle down) thousands. It would probably cause our newest luxury mall (among other things) to go bust as well, which is what I mean by trickle down. And note that where I live that population is only around 150k.
I don't know - maybe all the projects we do around here are important enough not to be cut, but then again, maybe not.

Where are we gonna get the money we're spending now? The deficit is screwed anyways, why not try helping the common folk?

If you make more than $250,000 a year, your taxes go through the roof, through the ceiling, through the gold encapsuled dome... -CG PS: "Ask not what you can do for your government (pay more taxes?), ask what your government can do for you." ;D

What a great day for the nation. I couldn't actually see it live because we have no TVs around in the office, and streaming video is disabled. Damn, missed the Williams piece too! It was cool to at least hear "Titans Spirit."

The Williams arrangement was very nice; must've been interesting for Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma to play out there in such frigid temperatures. The pianist went so far as to wear gloves, even while performing.
Obama's speech was a complete bore. Nothing I didn't expect to hear him say, nothing I found out of the ordinary. Best wishes to our newly elected president; he's got a tall order on his hands. I truly want to stand by President Obama when he's right and be his most staunch critic when he's wrong. In short, I'd like to give him every bit of support the left never bothered to give George W. Bush for the past eight years.
