I love this holiday. Wish the rest of Minnesota did.
This year we burned a MASSIVE effigy. Good stuff.

Bonfire Night is the one night of the year I get homesick. I continually have to explain to my colleague all about Guy Fawkes, King James, the Pope, etc etc, at this time of year, because most of them have never heard of it beyond V for Vendetta.

Bonfire Night is the one night of the year I get homesick. I continually have to explain to my colleague all about Guy Fawkes, King James, the Pope, etc etc, at this time of year, because most of them have never heard of it beyond V for Vendetta. My wife was piddling around on Facebook the other day and noticed that several people had changed their status to something along the lines of, "Remember, Remember, the 5th of November." She said, "I guess there are a lot of V for Vendetta fans out there." I explained that it was Guy Fawkes Day. She quickly turned around and said, "Guy WHAT day? I don't want to know how they celebrate that." Back at ya later
