All I know is I saw two minutes of crappy CGI, silly costumes (which, by reading the net, I gather is... the point?), a parade of characters making dramatic entrances and walking towards the camera with stern faces and a look of "This is serious business", and that it's made by the same people who did 300, which I hated. Also, every Alan Moore adaptation has been a disappointment, and I've never liked those.
I'm with Joe.

I agree with Jens, this looks terrific. I hated "300", but I hated Frank Miller's source material. That was a very faithful adaptation of a crappy graphic novel. "Watchmen" is terrific source material, and the trailer indicates that Snyder is trying to do this thing right.

That's because Snyder didn't actually create anything himself. He took everything from Frank Miller's art. At least when Rodriguez made Sin City he gave credit where it was due. Back to Snyder, I doubt the man will be able to make the film (to my satisfaction) without the strong visual cues he took from Miller's artwork (and it would be terrible if he tried to make Watchmen the same way he made 300). No offense to David Gibbons but the Watchmen art isn't what I'd call spectacular. It's the story that makes it special. I'm very skeptical about what Snyder will actually come up with for this. He certainly hasn't proven that he deserves to be making Watchmen. He got the job because 300 made a shit-ton of money. Of course it's not his fault he was hired....
I just don't trust him, and I don't trust whoever's actually controlling the film. The interests are waaaaaaaaaay too commercial.

Also, every Alan Moore adaptation has been a disappointment, and I've never liked those. Well, look at the bright side: Neither Stephen Norrington nor the Hughes Brothers are directing nor is Don Murphy producing Watchmen. I'm still willing to give it a chance... at least until Tyler Bates decides to ape another Elliot Goldenthal score. -Jockolantern

Zack Snyder doesn't have an original bone in his body.

prepare for 3 hours in cinema, 4,5 hours on dvd and the missing part of the story will be an animated movie (the black freighter)

Pfft... nobody's going to see 3 hours of this except, perhaps, the fans (the exception being Moore himself who said he's not going to watch it). Unless that was humor. Was that humor? Tell me, was that humor?

Everyone´s telling me how deep and engaging the story is, so it must be true.

Tell me, was that humor? I'd put more stock in that if Moore didn't claim to hate pretty much everything these days. Still, guess I can't blame him, considering "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" turned out. Ugh. How did that even happen? Back at ya later

Wow. This is one of those rare things that looks better every time I hear something new about it. The fact that it's from "the visionary director of 300" was keeping me in serious check, but at this point, I'm just plain excited.

On the flip side of that coin... now I'm more irritated than ever that Tyler Bates is scoring this thing.

As long as it's more Dawn of the Dead than 300 I'll be able to tolerate it. Heck, I tolerated the insipid Dark Knight score, didn't I?

While "The Dark Knight" score is hardly anything remarkable, I'd take it any day over anything that Tyler Bates has written. "Doomsday", "Slither", "Dawn of the Dead", "300"... I honestly despise all of it. Still, here's hoping that the material might inspire something tolerable from the composer. Still, I really wish that Elliot Goldenthal were doing this... or John Powell, who was once attached to this project, if I'm not mistaken. Back at ya later
