I think fans will enjoy it probably. I don't know what "regular" movie-goers will think.

Don't get too frickin excited. Zach Snyder's directing it. We COULD have had a goddam 6-hour Terry Gilliam miniseries....

Have you read the graphic novel, Hook?

No, but I'm not judging the comic. I'm judging the 1080p piece of trash I just saw on my screen.

No, but I'm not judging the comic. I'm judging the 1080p piece of trash I just saw on my screen. Try a really small version. Looks actually better! Joe

Just seeing so many iconic moments from the insanely good graphic novel brought to life so loyally is enough to get me excited. The Comedian's Defenestration, Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan on Mars... I'm not sure about Ozymandias's new look, though. Of course, who knows how the actual film will turn out. The Dark Knight just set the bar somewhere in the stratosphere. There's some interesting teaser-to-comic comparisons at www.empireonline.com/trailer/breakdown/watchmen/default.asp?NID=22951Also: The Beginning is the End is the Beginning! One of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs (right above The End is the Beginning is the End). I hope the fact that it was written for Batman & Robin isn't a harbinger of something for Watchmen. -Jon

If it follows the comic at all, it's going to have substance alright.

Yeah, and if we only had a filmmaker of substance behind the project I would feel better about this. Zach Snyder is "visionary?" Right now you're just excited that it's getting made, but that will change. Mark my words: Watchmen will be a disappointment.

Yeah, and if we only had a filmmaker of substance behind the project I would feel better about this. Zach Snyder is "visionary?" Hey, it's no great secret that I despise 300... HOWEVER, if Snyder approaches Watchmen the same way that he approached Frank Miller's bit of reprehensibleness, the results should be spectacular. The man does literal translations of what's on the comic book page, Joe. Exactly what I desire in this case.
