The Vietnamese movie "The Rebel" looks really really awesome: Full Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPhp58otRt0Or you can skip to the good action parts instead: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1vw7baC0OoCan anyone identify the trailer music? I would say it sounds familiar, but all trailer music does. Christopher Wong wrote the score. Maybe something for Movie Score Media to release. -Nate

The stuff at the end is by X-Ray Dog and its called Here Comes the King. It isn't available as it is production music.

Ah. Thanks. I guess that's not surprising. Here Comes the King seems to be the #1 answer to all movie trailer music questions, yet I didn't recognize it. Meh.

That's because Hollywood is both creatively and morally bankrupt.

Yeah, most asian movies are butchered here in the states. There is a DVD label that started late 2007 called "Dragon Dynasty" (I guess it's the same people that were involved with the UK 'Hong Kong Legends' line of DVDs) that gives the american public the original cut of asian movies (usually with the best picture available anywhere), original language tracks, tons of extras, etc. The catch is "Dragon Dynasty" is a Weinstein company the most famous butchers of asian movies. They've messed up a few times (like using dubtitles for Hardboiled), changing the original titles so they are more "Best Buy friendly," etc., etc. But what I can tell by watching them, and other research, they usually are the original uncut movies they release. www.dragondynasty.com They are releasing a two-disc version of "The Rebel" in august. I can't wait. They also just released "Invisible Target" which I can't wait to see. They use tons of wirework for stunts, but it still looks cool. Plus, it has Jackie Chan's son starring in it. Kinda neat to see him (even though he's just a professional singer, not martial artist). And to be fair to Hollywood a lot of ideas used in Hong Kong and other asian movies are recycled from Hollywood movies, they just make them look cooler. And stuff like "The Rebel" is supposedly U.S. financed with all of the lead actors Vietnamese/Americans that have been in Hollywood movies/television. And Jackie Chan credits U.S. stuntmen for giving him ideas, especially on safety issues. ;D It's also rumored that Jackie Chan gets irritated when Steven Spielberg steals stuff from his movies and adds them to his, but I've never seen anything blatantly similar in these two guys movies. Anyway. I've been turning to asian films for a couple years now because I'm sick of the same old boring Hollywood movies (Indy 4 was a major let down). I'm guessing X-files 2 will be the only summer blockbuster-type movie with some heart. -Nate
