So glad you're enjoying your new TV and Blu-Ray player, Clark. I just bought Patton myself, and it's the most impressive looking Blu-Ray movie I've seen to date. Maybe because it was filmed on 70mm?
Makes me really hope and pray for Lawrence of Arabia on Blu.

Makes me really hope and pray for Lawrence of Arabia on Blu. Yeah, I was thrilled when I saw how much better Patton looked on Blu-ray. The previous DVD transfer was not too great, so this was far and away the best-looking version of the film I have seen. "Lawrence of Arabia" will hopefully be released on Blu-ray soon... why on earth did they decide to make "A Passage to India" a hi-def priority over "Lawrence" or "Bridge Over the River Kwai"? Back at ya later

I don't know... there are LOTS of versions of Lawrence out outready. I myself already own the original bare-bones DVD, the Special Edition AND the Superbit. But you can never have enough Lawrence.
Speaking of things one can never have enough of, today I purchased There Will Be Blood, Rambo I-IV, Master and Commander and the Dirty Harry Collection on Blu as well. It's going to be one awesome weekend!

Let me know how those "Dirty Harry" films look... I plan to pick up that set (along with "There Will Be Blood") as well. Back at ya later

Having read about the new 4K transfer process Warner utilized for Dirty Harry, my expectations were very, very high.
I wasn't disappointed. The transfer is exceptionally clean considering the source, and it appears 100% film-like.

I'm seriously considering abandoning my "don't buy anything on Blu-Ray I've already bought on DVD" rule for Patton.
