There is 20 minutes of material included on this LP but not included in the suite Copland prepared for concert hall presentation. Apparently, there is just little or no interest in it. Tom

What has the world come to? No interest in Copland...

What has the world come to? No interest in Copland... Well, it was a horrible movie with Slyvester Stallone. At least he gained wieght for the role... -CG

Did Stallone actually perform in The Red Pony? If so what a miscast. Tom

And really to all of you seek out and listen to the Copland suite. It is a fine fine work. Tom

Didn't you say it's not available on CD? I seriously doubt anybody is going to look out for an LP. Or were you referring to the complete sountrack?

At the very least everyone should seek out the RCA/Slatkin/St. Louis Symphony recording. www.livingstereo-sacd.com/albums/product.jsp?id=09026616992But if you can find the LP and have a way to transfer it to CD go for it. The extra material along with extended versions of the same melodies found in the suite are worth it. Tom

That is about the worst sequenced album I've seen in a long time.

Agree but it is the only way to get The Heiress at all. For now it is the best that we have. Tom

The wheels are turning my friend as I type. I am finding out almost the same thing about On The Waterfront also. Bernstein has not fared much better I am afraid. Tom

Tonight will be a comparison between the Silva and the Alsop/Naxos release of On The Waterfront. Somehow I think there is a difference. Tom
