Carlton? ;D PS I can't BELIEVE this of all things is my 500th post We're flying into JFK and then wandering around Manhattan for a day or so; then we're driving to Pennsylvania (Milton, then the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area), staying with some friends of Ami's and collecting some of her stuff (she used to live around there). THEN we're going to Tennessee to visit Ami's aunt who lives near Nashville, possibly with a stop-off in Charleston WV en-route, THEN we're driving from Nashville to California via loads of places (Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, etc.) Long trip! I hope it will be a fun-filled journey. So, let the cross-country Gathering thread begin. I must confess that I'm much more familar with Philly than NYC, even though I live closer to NYC. Unfortunately, there isn't many "must go to" soundtrack stores in the NYC area , but there are plenty of sites and places to eat. -CG

Unfortunately, there isn't many must go to soundtrack stores in the NYC area. Yeah, maybe their would be though if the people at Footlight Records weren't a bunch of fools.

Well, that's not necessarily a problem (about the soundtrack stores) - to be honest, on this occasion, as I've never been there before, I'm more interested in soaking up the NYC atmosphere than rooting through used CD stores. Besides, I think Ami would castrate me if I spent our one day in Manhattan looking for soundtracks My ideal situation would be to meet somewhere in Manhattan for lunch on Wednesday, I don't have any specific plans about where or anything like that. The problem is going to be how we fix it up as neither of us have cellphones. The other problem is that I will have no internet access after Friday so if we do this we need to get it organized fast.... any ideas? You're at Rutgers in New Jersey, right?

Besides, I think Ami would castrate me if I spent our one day in Manhattan looking for soundtracks Yeah, it's probably better to soak up the atmosphere. No sites or Museums that you've been dying to see... I could probably borrow a cellphone. I usually just use phonecards. This shouldn't be that much of a problem after we come up with some meeting ideas. Hmmm. I have to think about it (distance, time wise stuff, etc) You're at Rutgers in New Jersey, right?[/quote] I'm at home with my parents. I'm tempted to shave since I've grown a beard. I don't know if the people at the Empire State Building would let me bypass the metal dectectors like they did before, after I kept ringing during multiple trips through the detectors... And this was after 9/11 ;D -Carlton
