I know I am always late with the movies, but I just watched this one now, and it was very very good. I finally also understand all the complaints other people made about it. It's quite disappointing Victor and Victoria, as well as the Corpse Bride didn't have any songs. It's also so similar to TNBC, but still not quite on the same level. The weirdness is there, but not the degree as it was before. Still, it's a good movie and a very good score. Not quite the classic, that's the only issue I am having. Should've been more over the top. I can only recommend it though, both for the picture and the music.

The Corpse Bride didn't have any songs? What about Tears to Shed or whatever that one was called. She sang that. This film was okay for me. Other than the climactic track I was unimpressed by the score.

Unless my viewing is for free I won't ever watch it. And I agree with the score review Christopher. Not very interesting, IMHO. Tom

I guess I am a bit weird, therefore I like the score. It has so many great elements. Musical insider-humour. I felt engaged on a different level by the music when watching the movie. It's a matter of taste, I guess.
I do recall the Corpse Bride song now. Still, no song for Victor. That is what we all wanted to hear! Elfman singing!

You mean you didn't hear Elfman singing as Mr Bonejangles? That was him, belting out "Remains of the Day"!

Sure, but that's nothing compared to all the songs Jack had in TNBC. I really like this score. All I would like to get now is the orchestral finesse of CB combined with the powerful songs of TNBC. That would rule!

Indeed it would. I love the Finale of Corpse Bride (as you all know), but I found the songs somewhat less than impressive.

Somehow it seems they decided to not pull all stops out and go completely nuts/weird. That can only be a mistake.

Well, i'd still like to hear Elfman's take on the wedding march on my wedding (if there ever will be one) and Remains of the Day on my funeral (assuming there will be one).... Seriously though, I have a strange love/hate relationship with the movie. I/We all so much wanted it to be like TNBC... and it IS. So, you'd think that's good. But at the same time, it's not good because it's so close to TNBC. A similar story line, similar juxtapositions, similar gang of loveable freaks, same macabre-isms, same score. All good, yet not original. Anyways. I liked the movie. I quite enjoyed it, but it's not great. The score however I very much adore. I love the themes. Moon Dance (or whatever, the exact title escapes me now) is so lovely!! The Finale and End Credits Part I are superb, imho: beuatiful themes, beautifully and quite cleverly arranged. PT

The moment I really loved in the movie was when they both sat at the "piano" and had their dialogue. Granted, it's not the greatest music ever, but it had something I found both amusing and amazing.
