I bought this one used at a decent enough discount. I don't know if there's any Ken Thorne or Ron Jones fans here, but I'm trying to break this thing up....I really only care about the Williams score and the Courage score, I can't imagine listening to these other discs again so I figure I might as well offer them up. I will just transfer the discs and artwork of discs 7 and 8 to the first case and move discs 3 and 4 to the 2nd case, and will gladly part with Discs 3,4,7, and 8 (Superman II, Superman III, Superman Animated, and the Bonus Disc). I'm keeping the book though. TJ

I guess. I just can't imagine myself wanting to listen to those discs again, and would part with them if there was some Ken Thorne fan who didn't want to pay the whole 120 or wahtever. And I have no intention of selling the box because Superman the Movie is a classic and the Superman IV score is loads of fun. Of course, I got this one used, too, so I didn't pay 120 for it either.

I've gotten rid of many discs (which for one reason or another didn't click with me at the time) that I later searched out (and often paid higher prices for) because my taste evolved and I realized the past error of my ways. I urge you to hold onto the entire set and give those Thorne and Jones discs a chance to grow on you. If you don't, you may regret it, especially since you'd probably have to replace the entire box set to get back any discs that you part with. Even my wife now urges me not to sell or trade any CDs that I don't have duplicates of, because she knows from past experience that someday I'll ending regretting it and wanting to get them back. Just a word to the wise...

I'm really surprised you don't like the Ron Jones stuff. I mean, sure, the disc could've been a better listening experience if it were half an hour shorter...cut out the mickey mousy stuff and just leave the fantastic orchestral action music and dramatic cues. But still, I wouldn't part with it for anything!
The Thorne scores were also better than I expected. A few excellent original moments in Superman II (like the dark version of the Personal theme when Superman is defeated) and many more in Superman III (I actually love the main titles...and the original action music at the end is very good indeed.) Definitely the weakest part of the set (no surprise considering they're the least original and Supermans I and IV are so fantastic), but I found both scores still a good listening experience.

I *DO* like the Jones disc well enough. I just thought that it would be a bigger appeal to someone. Anyway, nobody's interested so I'll probably hold on to them for a while. Listeining to Superman II it seemed like a rehash of the first score. I don't know. III does have some good stuff for sure, but nothing compared to I and IV.
