I just listened to his Colour Symphony. Great stuff! It's The Ulster Orchestra conducted by Vernon Handley. www.amazon.com/Bliss-A-Colour-Symphony/dp/B0009VPTZQ/Check it out! BTW, that recording of the symphony has since been re-issued (along with the cello concerto and another piece), but I prefer this coupling with the Checkmate suite. :-D But it might not be available anymore.

I do enjoy the Shape of Things To Come and have three versions of it. Tom

I just found that exact same album at the library. I'm halfway through now but I can already say with conviction that this is one great symphony!

i just got around to listening to a Bliss piano disc I bought over the summer: Unfortunately the main piano concerto is pretty boring to me, but the concerto for 2 pianos and orchestra is really cool, it seems to meander in parts but it stays pretty fresh for the duration, though it's the shortest, it's easily my favorite piece on the cd. I haven't listened to the piano sonata yet, but all in all for only $8.99, this is a fairly good CD, but I must say that I prefer his orchestral work to this piano stuff. www.amazon.com/Arthur-Bliss-Concerto-Sonata-Pianos/dp/B0000ZKY10/
