Ok, I'm going to be in London from May 13th - 19th. Now, I've already arranged to meet Emily there, but is anyone else going to be able to attend?
Jon, will you already have moved to California? I hope not!
Peter? Olivier?

Well, I'd sure love to, but -needless to say- it depends on a lot of things. And... friday the 13th? Off to a good start...

Hehehe...just pulling your leg, Jens. I'd like to come and meet you guys very much, seeing as London is actually within my reach, so to speak, but I don't think that I can make another trip to the UK while term's underway this year. Just too much work and learning. But Thanks for the invitation nonetheless! Christian

Right. It's too expensive to take the train from Sheffield, isn't it? Eh? Meanwhile, I'm flying in from Atlanta. Glad you're in, though.

A train ticket, a hotel room, food, the obligatory visits to HMV... As long as my bank notes are printed with red ink (I guess they ran out of their usual black...) it's not gonna happen.

I'll be staying in London from May 12 until June 2. But if getting to London is a problem, I've already paid for a rail pass that's good for my entire visit, so I could probably swing by Sheffield while I'm doing research for my term project. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I hope not! Peter? Olivier? You might like to know that there is a regular meeting group in London every Saturday. It's held at The Two Brewers, not far from The Cinema Store. It attracts quite a few soundtrack collectors, with plenty of trading going on too.

How long have these meetings been going on for? I didn't know anything about them until you mentioned them.
Back in the day, a group of us used to meet in the Opera Room bar just off Trafalgar Square (next to the Church of St. Martin in the Fields) before concerts and things, and chew the film music fat. Lots of people I've lost touch with now - David Wishart, Peter Briggs, Geoff Leonard, Paul Tonks. Seems ages ago now.

I guess I didn't live long enough in London to get into any of these circles. Maybe some day in the future...

How long have these meetings been going on for? I didn't know anything about them until you mentioned them. Jonathan These meetings have been going for quite a few years now. They all used to meet up at Rare Discs, but now that store has gone. The pubs have changed over the years, but the current one is The Two Brewers, opposite Dress Circle, and close to The Cinema Store for that little purchasing. One of the guys, George Flaxman, posts regularly on the FSM board. You could try contacting him there.

Anybody ever go to the 2nd hand CD store at Notting Hill gate? The have quite a pile of film music, and one can even speculate as the prices are going down with time.
