I can barely hear the viola in that track as it is.

Viola has a tendency to be buried in any mix...we're the cream filling in any string voicing. Also our violin player is quite fantastic, so I let her take most of the spotlight.

What album? 12 Tales from Winter City? Or one of our self-released ones? I would be curious to know where you would have found one of those... Yeah, the Winter City one from RoughTrade.com. Oh, and my other brother apparently also enjoyed it. So that's like a trifecta of brotherly enjoyment. I know I'm misusing the word trifecta. But I like it. The only other CD I have from your craziness is Having a Jesus Party With the Stiffs. How about New Orleans on the 16th of March? I just booked us a show there! If I'm here when you're here I'll be there! Though I have a grandparents birthday thing way out of town one weekend in March, I'll have to see when... -Jon

And you call yourself a film score fan? Yes. The kind of film score fan who's so intently listening to the viola parts, straining to detect some subtle musical in-joke, that he completely ignores the obvious trumpet fanfare.

Really, Jon? Good lord, I thought Walsall was shit, I might want to stay about from Middlesborough. Then again... I live in Wincobank! :-(
Anyways, Nate... thanks for an early heads up. Manchester is not too far away. And I was planning of going to either London or Edinburgh around that time... so, who knows, I might just show up.

Yes? I thought Walsall was shit, I might want to stay about from Middlesborough. Then again... I live in Wincobank! :-( I lived in and traveled around the U.K. for three months and, while I can't say I thoroughly covered all major municipalities, I never saw one town or city that seemed that bad. In fact, while of course I liked some areas much more than others, I never saw one town or city from which I got an overall negative impression. In the U.S., however, redundant, faceless burgs are a dime a dozen, with no character, little history, horrible organization, weak to non-existent public transportation, and all the charm of a soda can. There's only one city in my entire "home" state that I view positively overall. Don't get me wrong, I feel lucky to live here (especially after my childhood in the third world), but hearing anyone crack on certain towns in the U.K. somewhat amuses me. Even if it is the worst city in England, I have a hard time imagining it being worse that what you'd find in an American town named Middlesborough (or Middlesburg, or Middleville, or Middleton, ad nauseam). Where? I have friends living in Gretna. They'd love to go to a concert like this. I lived in Gretna not too long ago! In a trailer in a parking lot. -Jon NP: Cowboy Bebop Future Blues
