You knew nothing about a concert in your own town??? I could say something, if it weren't for the fact that it happened to me once, too.
You going, then?

Well, I'm not really on CalLu's mailing list... and it's not been well advertised. I'm certainly thinking about going, though.

Shit. I am SO interested in this concert, especially since it's free and Randy, David, and Thomas Newman will all be there!
Unfortunately I don't live in L.A. for another month yet and I really can't make it.

I just found out that this concert clashes with the opening game of the season for the San Fernando Valley Quakes, the new semi-pro soccer team I'm working for, so it's unlikely I'll be able to go. Kick-off is 7:05pm (in LA), and the concert is at 8:00pm. Shnazzzn frazzzn razzzn Dick Dastardly (as Muttley would say).

You know I like soccer too but given the chance of hearing Alfred Newman scores LIVE for free and maybe the chance to meet his sons and nephew, I'd defintely give up the game! Yavar

Sadly, it's not a case of giving up the game. I actually *work* for the team as a member of staff - I'm the President of the Supporters Club - and have to attend every game. www.valleyquakes.com/Contact%20Us.htmSee, I'm even on the website!

Then, like the rest of Americans, you don't understand soccer. ;D Btw, what's your take on the NFL stuff. No, I'm one of the Americans that DOES understand soccer. I was at the first Women's Gold Medal Championship at the 1996 Centennial Atlanta Games and saw our U.S. Women's team led my Mia Hamm defeat China (who we'd tied in the playoffs). I also attended the Men's Gold Medal game and saw Nigeria win in a glorious upset. Plus in jr. high and high school I played for like 7 years. Midfielder, baby. Toughest position there is. Yavar

So what about Americans who play lacrosse?

And Americans who don't play sports but who instead watch movies, listen to music, and read poetry?
