As I said ... Trailer Time. 1.) I saw the Fantastic Four trailer today ... www.apple.com/trailers/fox/fantastic_four/I must say, I'm not at all excited about it. "1 will be bad" ... how lame is that? Reminds me of the tagline of the godawful "Haunting: "Some houses are born bad" ... sooo uncool. So, what about the film itself? I've never been a fan of the comics, but Doctor Doom doesn't seem right and The Thing either. Poor Michael Chiklis ... love the guy ... I might give the movie a chance, but only if I catch it cheap. The choice of music in the trailer was odd. Beginning with yet another epic feel (can somebody tell me what exactly it was?), it soon heads into heavy metal. Not your ordinary metal, but play/stop kinda music. Not entirely uncool, I must say. I was told it was from "Perfect Circle" ... dunno them. So, what do you think?

2.) Next, I saw "Cinderella Man" www.apple.com/trailers/universal/cinderella_man/I never liked Russell Crowe. Well, I downloaded the trailer ... pressed "PLAY" ... and when I woke up, it was over. WHAT A SNOOZER. Patriotic boredom ... man ... this is one movie I won't see, that's for sure.

3.) Finally (I had to continue work ... it was just my coffee-break), I watched the trailer for "Weather Man" ... the latest Nicholas Cage film. www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/the_weather_man/I find it kinda weird ... on the one hand, Cage is a very able, diverse actor ... on the other ... he always looks exactly the same. I mean, Harrison Ford looks the same in Star Wars and Indy too, but I never even ONCE thought of the counterpart in any of those movies. Back to Weather Man. Half drama, half comedy ... it'll probably get stuck somewhere in the middle ... looks very mediocre to me. Although it's a Gore Verbinski film ... I like the guys previous works. All of them. Lets wait and see ... I say it's worth watching on DVD.

Watched F4. Yuk. And I also saw about two days ago a 20s preview, through C.H.U.D.-- that was terribly terrible: a bad rapid edit and atrocious noise in place of a soundtrack, a lot worse than what they used for this final trailer. The opening text is lame indeed-- "Changed forever Changed 4 ever" One time would have been enough, and it was soooo trite. "1 bad" and all that... A dyed Jessica Alba? Gee, couldn't they find a blonde actress? The guy playing Reeds doesn't lok like a genius scientist. The guy playing Johnny looks stupid-- sure, the character is supposed to be a young hothead of a whippersnapper, but not that stupid. Isn't he supposed to be a scientist too? I don't know the comics. And what's with the moto race? Something to lure in the Fast and Furious crowds? That's not a good sign. I don't want to see Fast & Furious 3 (I wasn't even interested in the first two), I want The Fantastic Four! The makeup on The Thing doesn't look too convincing; too rubbery. Hellboy was better done. The effects on Reeds don't look too good either in the trailer; too CGI. I suppose you have read they decided to change the ending, supposedly after seeing The Incredibles, which apparently was a lot better than what they had in mind. And Reed at the end: "It looked cool" From the little I know, that doesn't sound like him. I might see it, but it doesn't look good. Too bad, there were lots of possibilities, visually and story-wise, with so many deep changes (especially The Thing).

In fact, The Thing looks like the earliest versions of The Thing ... fans tell me that he might "evolve" into what we now know.
But another serious mistake: at the end of the trailer, when The Thing throws the car ... his right hand doesn't even touch the car and when it flies ... there is a very weird cut ... look at it frame by frame.
No, no.

But You must admit that the use of Silvestri's Cast Awat theme played softly on english(?) horn was great. I hope You noticed at least that? I think the film might be very well, as with all Howard's movies, at least it will have great cinematography...

Although I practically slept through it and had to surpress my urge to vomit when I saw Renee Zellwegger ... yeah, I noticed that the music was familiar... but it only added up to the overall BOREDOM. (Nothing against Silvestri ... I adore his stuff. I mean his works. ) And with the supposed great cinematography ... WHO CARES if the film sucks like it seems?

After seeing in good'ol days The Rock for the first time I really liked Nic Cage, then as I saw more and more films with him, I realized the guy acts in each and everyone of them in the same way. Man, I was on the limit of my patience seeing him in Windtalkers playing human-martyr (his trademark face... )... He usually plays guys that are total schizofrenic-weirdos (Wild at Heart, Bringing Out the Dead /trademark: swinging with hands) or sentimental, romantic underdogs (trademark: dog-like face) - Wetaher Man will be probably from the second group. But I must admit that Ridley Scott forced him recently in Matchstick Men to 'really' act.

He used to play in so good movies in the past ("Leon", "The Big Blue" anyone) but now probably like DeNiro is focused to get as much money as he can when he retire... Sad

I know she's not the prettiest out there but I if You remember the dance scene (Roxie) from Chicago then maybe You'll re-think Your thoughts . Plus this girl at least is very good actress.

Plus this girl at least is very good actress. Yeah, she was good in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4. That was the first film I saw her in. And you're right, she was kinda sweet in Chicago. But otherwise ...

But I must admit that Ridley Scott forced him recently in Matchstick Men to 'really' act. Actually, I felt that it was the same old twitching Cage as always. And the movie sucked donkey balls ... well, the ENDING did. I felt so fukcing cheated... And Zimmer's score was uneven. He himself said that Scott took EVERY idea he had and the outcome was a very incoherent soundtrack.
