Just had a chance to rewatch "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" a really amusing Horror/Comedy. Basically takes the evil hillbillies killing college kids concept and mixes it up. Has some great dialogue, gory kills and plenty of laughs. Anyone who enjoys this genre should check it out.
Anyone seen that flick or recommend another movie that falls in the horror/comedy genre?

SHAUN OF THE DEAD is really the top of the mountain in this genre for me, at least in the last ten years. Gory and hilarious, with a flawless, immaculately constructed script. But what really separates it is the relationships in the film and the surprising emotional component. Not just the romantic aspects between Shaun and his girlfriend, but ALL the relationships in the film, whether between Shaun and his mum, or his stepdad, or (especially) his best friend.
Another all-time personal favorite is TREMORS, which I guess isn't strictly a horror film (more of a creature feature), but perfectly captures a very specific tone and is just entertaining as hell. I could watch it on an endless loop.

SHAUN OF THE DEAD is really the top of the mountain in this genre for me, at least in the last ten years. Gory and hilarious, with a flawless, immaculately constructed script... You know, I need to revisit that film. While I enjoyed it, for some reason it didn't click with me as much as "Hot Fuzz" did. Now that may be because I saw "Hot Fuzz" first, and was expecting "Shaun" to be similar. But they have a different tone to them. Still it was a really entertaining movie. I think I might have been over-hyped for it. Another all-time personal favorite is TREMORS... OK, I'd count "Tremors". That movie is a blast. I actually hadn't seen it in a few years, and got to revisit it a few months ago. Still holds up real well.
