Gorgeous score excerpts there, Southall.
Morricone has always been on/off for me. I absolutely adore his melodic stuff, like that Southall mentioned above, but I usually can't stand his more dissonant efforts or when he gets TOO quirky (a beautiful melody counterpointed by some weird rhyhtmic or sonic effects).
Incidentaly, Morricone's output is NOTHING compared to the Indian composer Illayaraja, who has composed about THREE times(!) as much as Morricone. Good luck with that, I say.
