I'm just curious. Why do some of you guys log in for a while and a couple of minutes later log out, without posting any messages? You can still read the board without signing in, what's the purpose of doing that? I see the currently active members list and I think to myself "Oh, yeah, this guy's about to reply to something. I can't wait to see what he has to say" and the dude walks out. Simple as that.
What gives?

Well, on my home computer I leave the board sign-in thingy as "stay signed in forever" - so technically whenever I visit the site to see if there are any messages, it will immediately show me as signed in. My cookies are hard at work, baby.

No, I mean when someone comes in, the board announces there's a certain amount of guests. Then, after a while, one of those signs in. Minutes later, that member logs out, and there are no messages posted by him/her.
I know I do this when I come up with a brilliant idea or response and I sign in to wow you all with my post, then something happens and I quickly come back to my senses, and I sign out, leaving no trace of me. Another possibility is that I sign in to edit a post, then leave.
