I'll watch this only if it has a really expensive, realistic-looking digital rabbit in it, preferably acted/voiced by Andy Serkis.

Another candidate for "most unneccecary remake of all time" At least it isn't unnecessary.

He's choosing to do this over Lincoln and Interstellar? Ugh. Not like I've had much faith in Spielberg to do anything well after the disaster that was Crystal Skull but still...

Between Neeson and Spielberg, I'm thinking Lincoln is having development problems. They've both seemed to have moved on. And one (in your opinion) bad movie doesn't mean anything.

the lucas manace is not a problem with non-indy films. How many times do I have to say this: Lucas didn't write the script and he didn't direct the movie. Sure, he had his own measure of influence; I'm not denying that. But if we're going to place blame, let's place it on Koepp and Spielberg where it is primarily due. And one (in your opinion) bad movie doesn't mean anything. When it's as bad as Crystal Skull... yeah, it matters.

This was debated a long time ago in the Indy thread.

This was debated a long time ago in the Indy thread. And you were just as wrong then as you are now. Crystal Skull is an abomination.

I didn't think Spielberg would be interested in a remake... of anything. It does seem very unnecessary, but perhaps he can do it differently. I argue that Harvey has already been remade: Donnie Darko.
As for Crystal Skull... it isn't actually a disaster of a film. If you watch it for the look and feel of an Indy movie, it does fit the bill. The plot is good for an Indy film (and certainly better than Temple) but the ending is really terrible, tho nicely done with sfx. So it's not Crusade and it's certainly not Raiders (which I've seen twice in recent weeks, thanks to Sky TV), but it's not an abomination...
I'd rather Spielberg do something entertaining than not at all. I'd much rather see him do something with some originality, like AI or Munich. SS, avoid the remakes! Avoid!

I argue that Harvey has already been remade: Donnie Darko. That is a ridiculous statement. Apart from the fact that both films feature an imaginary rabbit (actually, in Donnie Darko, didn't it eventually turn out to be a Halloween costume?), these films have nothing whatsoever in common. You might as well argue that Looney Tunes: Back in Action is a Harvey remake. Maybe you're just trying to be funny, it's rather hard to tell. Also, you are dead wrong about Crystal Skull.
