Pretty unacceptable behavior.

Only if you are Christain Bale or someone equivalent could you get away with this (in any profession). I have wanted to go on tirades like these at work before, but I am too nice of a person, and I couldn't get away with it without being fired the next day.
Anyways - I am wondering what is up with Bale. Didn't he have some incident of domestic abuse with his mom or something a few months back also when the Dark Knight was coming out?

Didn't he have some incident of domestic abuse with his mom or something a few months back also when the Dark Knight was coming out? Yeah, but at the time people denied it unsurprisingly. This recording happened before that. I find it literally sick the people defending this behavior. There are levels of anger and frustration. Some of those range of levels are acceptable. But Bale went far over that acceptable range. Joe

I couldn't believe this when I heard it. I felt really sorry for the director of photography. When Bale calls him "amateur" and says that he 'trashed his scene' I couldn't believe the egotism. I thought that he was a nice, well kept and mannered person. I hope I can get past this stuff when I see him on TV and the movies.
I also can imagine defending him. I mean, just saying that he was having a 'bad day' doesn't excuse this. If I had a 'bad day' and went off like that I would be either sent home or fired. Being an "artist" does not give you leeway to treat other people like shit for the sake of your "art." Give me an effing break.

What I find most amusing is the "ruined the scene" issues. Now it's not like any scene nowadays runs for more than 10 seconds anyways, so it should be possible to do that again without that much of a fuss. I do understand the "amateur" comments, as we've all been working with people at some point who clearly shouldn't be there, but that's life. Get over it. Especially with a salary like that.

If the DP was, you know, not fiddling with the lights while the scene was SHOOTING, Bale would have had no reason to go off on him.

Obligatory Hollywood apology in 3....2.....1..... Now.I love how he pleads for people to go see the Terminator film...is it really in that much trouble that he's concerned his little tirade will hurt it that much? -Brendan

I hope we'll get to find out what scene this happened with. Would be amusing to see how he performed.

Supposedly the scene is the "emotional center of the film". We'll have to see if there's an obvious scene that sticks out. I for one think it should be a bonus track in the soundtrack release... or better yet played as a remixed track played during the end credits.

I think they should just leave it in the movie. That was quality acting.

I actually thought the apology seemed real and decent. But--then again--he is a pretty good actor. I'd like to think that this had something to do with the scene and he was just...I don't know. But I still didn't like what he did and it was a lame-ass thing to do. Oh well. At least he redeemed himself quickly (in my eyes). Not like Tom Cruise who is still working his way up.
