I was thinking back to the Seinfeld thread the other week, and about how comedy is probably the most subjective entertainment there is. Everyone's sense of humour differs so greatly, so I was just wondering what everyone's tastes are?
I tend to like verbal comedy, highly literate word play, surrealism, and the interpolation of music into the comedy... but on the other hand I also appreciate absurdism, and even occasional stupidity.
Movies Airplane The Naked Gun Four Weddings and a Funeral The Full Monty Spaceballs Dodgeball
Shows The Two Ronnies Black Books Monty Python Shooting Stars Not the Nine O'Clock News The League of Gentlemen The Simpsons South Park Family Guy Futurama Whose Line is it Anyway Never Mind the Buzzcocks They Think It's All Over Have I Got News For You!
Standup/People - British (most Americans will never have heard of the majority of these people) Bill Bailey Eddie Izzard Billy Connolly Les Dawson Victoria Wood Peter Kay Stephen Fry & Hugh Laurie Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer Johnny Vegas Tommy Tiernan Jasper Carrott Richard Digance Tommy Cooper Dudley Moore & Peter Cook Ricky Gervais Craig Ferguson
Standup/People - American George Burns Jeff Foxworthy Bill Engvall Jeff Denham

Interesting thread topic. Here are some films, television shows, and people that make me laugh...
Movies: The Big Lebowski Monty Python Films Blazing Saddles The Naked Gun I Heart Huckabees
Television Shows: The Office (British version always, American Version sometimes) 30 Rock Monty Python's Flying Circus Extras Flight of the Conchords The Simpsons
As far as stand-up comedy goes, I'm honestly not a huge stand-up person in general, but I've always loved George Carlin. In terms of people who just make me laugh... oh, Stephen Colbert, Ricky Gervais, Jon Stewart, Stephen Fry, John Hodgeman, Conan O'Brien, Craig Ferguson... there are loads of others, I'm sure, but those come to mind immediately.
Back at ya later

Yeah funny film. I loved his car and the theme. Another good comedy: Ferris Beuller's Day Off. Hhhhhh, you've seen it?

Hhhhhh, you've seen it? Who told you? That wasn't supposed to be made public! Although, I don't watch it once the competition gets serious (in which case it is even more funny because people take the show seriously) I love watching the auditions and the hilarious insults Simon throws out.

ShowsEverbody Loves Raymond Who knew? I've actually seen that episode on tv. I get a kick out of Chef Ramsey yelling at people. That restaurant looks like the cafeteria at work where they keep the hamburgers floating in a bucket of brown water.

I tend to not be a fan of comedy stuff. Seinfeld was pretty damn funny though.
I'll watch whatever shows they show on airplane flights, but thats about it, and i never care enough to catch them (or remember the titles) when I get back on the ground. The one on the most recent trip was the one with the Doogie Howser actor and the new-ish show with Elaine from Seinfeld. They were alright. Nothing groundbreaking.
