no experience. what is everyone think? I hadn't heard of him beforeTj brought him up. I've checked out a few of his pieces from the library but I haven't listened to them yet. - Connotations for brass band / (11:40) - Festivo (1985) (5:35) - Plantagenets (12:15) - Concerto for tuba and brass band (17:55) - Concerto for French horn and brass band (17:06) It looks like he has written a lot of stuff for brass. There's also his Sonata for four trombones... -CG

I wish I shared your librayr, Carlton. My library had a bunch of Bruckner and Mahler that I was thinking about, but not much more recent than that!

I haven't played all of them yet. I did like his "Festivo" piece. Right now, I've been hit with the urge to explore "Spirituals" so "When Israel was in Egypt's Land..."

I thought I recognized his name and then realized that we played Festivo in high school band. That was a fun piece, too bad our oboes screwed it up at a music festival! Oh well. Fun times still.
