All of the series this year are 2-0 in the first round of the playoffs. It could be 3 and out for the Angels, White Sox, Cubs, and Brewers. I think the biggest surprise for me were the Angels. Dominated the Red Sox during the season and have really choked. The Cubs little league playing in the second inning of their last game with the Dodgers wasn't too far behind. The Rays look like they are the best in the American League. Thomas

One of the better closers of all time and he gives up a homer to Drew. At least I have the Chargers to cheer for. Better luck next year Halo's.

In the AL playoff's, it always seems as if the Yankees will beat the A's or the Twins, the Angels will beat the Yankees, and the Redsox will beat the Angels. So this one was no big surprise. Even if the Angels win the next two games, it will just be a reincarnation of 1986. ;D
So, the league leaders in wins, and the two teams that got in on the last day, are one loss away from elimination. A Tampa-Boston series should be fun. For the last couple of years the Rays have giving the Redsox trouble, and they almost caused the Yanks to miss the playoffs last year. Anyway, I'm pulling for Torre and the Dodgers. A Dodgers-Red Sox World Series match-up would be cool... if the Dodgers won. It seems like any match-up is possible, but a Tampa-Philly Series seems way too odd.

Since the Dodgers are in the division as the Padres I've followed them a little closer than the other teams and the reason for their success is one word 'MANNY' If I had to venture a guess I'd say Red Sox-Dodgers.

I'd just like to say you're welcome to all the Dodger fans out there. It was my pleasure to strike out the Cubs tonight

So much for the mighty Cubs. Just another choke job. And LA isn't that strong.

My playoff philosophy, as a Giants fan: ABTD (Anybody but the Dodgers)

You're wrong about the Twins IMO. You lost your best pitcher to the Mets and one to injury. Your closer isn't the lights out, parties over anymore. I'm impressed you made it as far as you did. Be grateful you could be a Padre fan. We lost 99 games but our owner doesn't care about spending money because he got his stadium and it gets filled win or lose. Our season in my pea brain is summed up this way. For the month of July, Greg Maddux lead the team in stolen bases with 1. Sandy Alderson can talk about his money ball this and percentages that but the man has never won! I would either give him the boot, make him quit, or better yet play an entire season without any stats. Probably it will be Red Sox vs Dodgers which will be interesting because of MANNY, who I don't like either. And Cheno be grateful for having two of the best pitchers in either league on your Giants. Thomas

And Cheno be grateful for having two of the best pitchers in either league on your Giants. Thomas Oh, they're fun to watch. It was actually a pretty entertaining season, considering the record. A lot of young guys that look really promising.

Your team is a lot more encouraging than the Padres. Other than Gonzalez or Peavy anyone else is up for trade. Thomas

Bye Bye Chicago White Sox. So much for the Chicago vs Chicago World Series. Right now Boston is ahead 2-0. Bye Angels?
Still looking for Boston vs LA
