Since it has neither a Jerry Goldsmith nor an Alan Silvestri score, why should we care about this piece of shit movie?

Give Randy a chance, LSO and no synths this time.Every composer can do fantastic heroic music.just look at Greame Revells Power Rangers.Eric Serras Arthur and the Invisibles (two sequels to Arthur with much more epic story in development, i didn´t want to see the movies, but if the score remains that great i´d be thankful)Zimmers Pirates 3...

I saw the trailer for this yesterday. It looks to be nearly as bad as the feature film that followed it, "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian".

Wow. I'm actually going to have to disagree with Clark for a change. I enjoyed The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. It was a very faithful adaptation of the book, if a bit flat (but nowhere near as flat as the first couple Harry Potter films). The trailer for Prince Caspian however had me really excited. The book is a lot better overall and more cinematic than the first one IMO, and I really had high expectations going into the film yesterday.
My expectations were met. While there were a few things I thought could be better (some characters had more development in the book, and I really liked how the book covered Caspian's life at the castle with his tutor, looking at the stars, learning about the old times, etc. before he escapes), overall I found Prince Caspian tremendously involving, exciting, and yes, moving at times. Particularly the moment when Peter realizes that he is responsible for the deaths of hundreds he just led into battle. In fact, I think all four of the young actors were fine, but not great in the first film, but they really came into their own in this film, particularly the guy who plays Peter. Probably the most disappointing cast member was the actor who played Caspian, but then he didn't realize he was going to need an accent until his actual audition! He was good, just could have been better.
Of course the score was nothing special at all, but it was a lot more passable than I expected considering I found the first one merely serviceable and people at this forum have been trashing the second score in relation to it (at least on CD).
I eagerly, eagerly await The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Oh yeah, and Reepicheep kicks ass. The mice lifting up their tails at the end had me in stitches.

Yuk, my wife's going to be dragging me to that film on Tuesday, despite the fact that I hated, hated, hated the first film. Is it really as irredeemably awful as it looks?
