Dimitri Tiomkin... Not a single CD or MP3 score... I mean aside from suites on a collection CD and a suite from Land of the Pharoahs on MP3. I would love to have even LP rips of Rhapsody of Steel, which I do have on LP, much good it does me. All that cool western film scoring and Search for Paradise... etc. Lots of things I haven't heard in years. Speaking of which; I hope to pick up The Thing, eventually.

I've loved this guy's stuff ever since his first LPs and his earliest, highly unoriginal, scores. If you imitate somebody I love and do a decent job, I can't hold it against you. I noticed quite a Rozsa collection of material. Was there ever an official OST of Lost Weekend I am not familiar with? Tom There was a soundtrack excerpt lp release (TT-MR-2), with Rozsa and Studio Orchestra, which has the same listings as the cd listings which you contributed at soundtrackcollector.com. soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=36294Then there was the Gerhardt/NPO Suite (RCA ARL 1-0991) and a Rozsa/RPO Suite (Polydor 2383 327 -DGG 2584 013), but outside of the suites I don't think there has every been an official OST release of Rozsa's The Lost Weekend score. Speaking of Soundtrackcollector.com, Thingmaker, wouldn't it be easier to input your collection onto the incipient board collection list at the SC site. If the correct format isn't listed you can just put in parentheses (tape) (lp) next to your name/intitals. mmuk64.proboards42.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1143155508&page=1-Carlton

About that Soundtrack Collector site... Maybe I misunderstood the connection, but I thought it was tied to a forum that has the strictest attitude towards legality. I started to put together a list using their database but it only included non-bootleg CDs and the forums seem to delete posts if you even mention mp3s.
Anyway, I now have a mostly complete, reasonably accurate - if less detailed - list of my collection as rtf files. I copied them into MMUK as they were completed.

Among the many painful items in my collection of LPs: TT-MR-2 Lost Weekend (33 minutes) CT-6031 Blood on the Sun TT-MR-3 Brute Force (22min) The Naked City (20min) TT-MR-4 The Killers, Dark waters, Time out of Mind VC 81053 Rozsa Conducts Rozsa (Lust for Life and Film noir stuff) Polydor Super 2383 384 Rozsa Conducts (This one has Men of the Fighting Lady) There's more... Hell, there are 10 LPs of non-film material I used to listen to. - I'm about to get grumpy.

Well I think the site, like many others, frown upon the actual trading of mp3's and cd-r's... But the site does permit disscussions of bootlegs at their forum, and they do have tons of bootlegs listed in their database. Therfore, I see nothing wrong with listing your collection-all formats included-on the MMUK Board list. The purpose of the list is one of "Board" discussion and it's not viewable to non-MMUK viewers. -CG NP: Riders of Doom

I'm too lazy to go to the work of filling up a database listing. It was enough work to put together this list of my stuff... I'm just trying to find people to trade with, really. I have little to contribute to a discussion. I like what I like and figure my opinions are just expressions of personal taste. I dislike plenty of fine film music and love plenty of crap, so why piss others off? Oh, hell, I'm just not that social... Not even on the web. Should anyone care: I have gotten access to a decent computer and have been able to save from tape - Max Steiner's Operation Pacific, Richard Band's Metalstorm, Queen of Outer Space and Flight to Mars by Marlin Skyles... I just edited the Jerry Goldsmith scores Baby and Cabo Blanco from tapes. There may be CDs out there but I can't buy 'em. I also made a copy from LP of Band's The Day Time Ended - Unfortunately, my turntable produces a buzz I cannot shake so I had to filter it and it's just not worth doing on other LPs... The results are inferior.
I'm also making WAVs from stuff I have on LP via old tape copies... I really need to hear Delerue's 25th Hour, The Horsemen, Thibaud, A Walk With Love and Death.... Hell, I even made a copy of Rocketship X-M by Grofe cuz I missed being able to hear it.
