I'm very sorry for your loss, Yavar. These are some very fine cds. I would have made an offer on "An Almost Perfect Affair", but it seems like Michael has beaten me to it. It's probably for the best, though... I'm pretty tight on cash myself at the moment. I've determined not to purchase any non-limited score releases within the next few months, trying to save some money for a change. Anyway, I'm sorry you have to resort to selling your stuff. Carlton is right, Ebay is pretty safe... as long as you're the seller, anyway. Good luck with that, a couple of those could bring in some serious cash.
Back at ya later
P.S. I have the extremely rare James Horner score for the small independent film "Titanic", in almost like-new condition, for the incredible price of just $150 (so long as you also purchase $100 in boiled peanuts as well). Any takers?

You've had problems as a buyer?

Ebay is pretty safe... as long as you're the seller I respectfully disagree. As a buyer, your only obligation is to pay. After that, you're done. However, as a seller you're at the mercy of the buyer's attitude. For example, a while ago I sold a CD to someone. It got lost in the mail, and the buyer threatened me with all manner of adverse feedback, despite the fact that I could prove that I posted the item. The feedback system is such that a buyer can leave negative feedback for a seller for ANY reason. They don't have to justify it. Ultimately I caved, and refunded the cretin's money. My 100% feedback rating is more valuable than a $10 transaction.

Why? Do you think people won't buy from you just cause you have 1 or 2 neg's? Thats why they have sites like www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs so you can see the comments people left and if it was over something dumb. Also ebay has as "followup" feature that lets you respond to it, I think. And of course you can leave feedback back.

It's a shame our deal never came to anything. I eventually got a copy of the Delerue soundtrack from someone else anyway. Good luck with your current eBay listings.

Curious how many of those from the first page are still availalbe? Did you end up selling them all? I must have missed the listings.... Okay, the update is I found a living situation for a while (until right about now) but now I have to go through this again and I've listed my two rarest FSMs on Ebay. Feel free to bid even if you don't think you'll win. What do you have to lose? Sorry, but I can't bid on the Towering Inferno... the music isn't worthy of a bid. The Omega Man is tempting. What do I have to lose? Umm, I probably shouldn't answer that. I suppose I have a lot to lose, but the question should be, "what will I gain?" That one negative really hurts. 96%. I had to browse thru the feedback because the percentage was so low... I'm annoyed by a Goldsmith fan who left me the following feedback: "Got here quick. The envelope was a kind of yellow. All around good stuff......"Wow, complaing about the envelope. Yes, I re-used an envelope get over it! I could charge more for shipping and use "new" one's I also had troble with another positive feedback, "Item was in satisfactory condition for being used" The person didn't read the listing. I was re-selling a Terminator cd, I brought off eBAY. The cd was in acceptable condition and it took months for me to get it. Apparently, the seller was in the hospital... Anyway, Yavar, you might want to update the condition of your item, "BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED, STILL IN THE STRINKWRAP." Get it new, while you can! ;D Since this item is extremely rare, shipping insurance (with delivery confirmation) has to be mandatory (re-read Micheal's post). Bid with confidence. Only one negative feedback... " -CG NP: The Blue Lagoon

Curious how many of those from the first page are still availalbe? Did you end up selling them all? They're all still available, even the Delerue (sorry Michael -- I told you not to send me money yet and I'm glad I did because my life was really hectic at the time). So if you want to make me an offer before I go the Ebay route, or if you'd just like to prompt me to list something, go ahead. Does craigslist actually work for these things or was that a joke? Carlton, I will take your suggestions into account. Thanks. I haven't sold a lot on Ebay. The Omega Man's a pretty cool score. You know I agree with you on The Towering Inferno (in fact I was the one who copied it for you, I think). It's a pretty mediocre Williams score, not worth all the hype. Some parts of it are nice, though. On the other hand you and I don't agree on Bandolero! I have a lot of fun listening to that one -- thanks! Yavar

I'd bid on QB VII and Patch of Blue but I have a feeling someone would outbid me.

No. I meant craigslist.com for shared housing. It would be a joke for soundtracks.

You fool!!! Keep "The Omega Man"; that sells for so much you'll be hard pressed to ever get another pressed CD for under $500.

I need the money and if it indeed sells for that much, I'll be *getting* that much! I don't want another pressed CD...the last two copies of Omega Man sold on Ebay just for Christmas for between $200 and $250 though. Yavar

Well I have to say I'm pretty happy with how it's been going, considering how many days are left on both items. I do find it a little strange that The Omega Man is doing better, since I thought The Towering Inferno was harder to find (and it sold out first).
There's a new Omega Man thread at FSM's board, but I don't have an FSM account (I tried a few times, but it never worked). Would somebody here be willing to point out my auction in that thread?
Yavar
