Classical topic area, eh. Sounds good to me. As long as it doesn't change into a "where do the rip-offs come from" corner, I'm all for it.

I go through phases where all I listen to is classical music. I have nearly as many classical CDs as soundtracks. I would enjoy an area like that, too....there just wouldn't be many new releases to talk about --Chris

I think you mean releases of new pieces. There are also those. Contemporary music... good topic.

Quite true I meant to say new works, of course. And there is plenty of music being cranked out by university professors across the world, though generally people are very unaware of them. I haven't enjoyed most of that music nearly as much as the more ear-pleasing music composed a while back.

What I was thinking about was works classically by Herrmann, Korngold, Waxman, Goldsmith, Williams etc. That would just be the start!! Could be fun Tom

Oh, classical works by "film music related" composers. Excellent topic as well. Who doesn't have the Herrmann Symphony? It was a limited release, so again, whoever wants copies just let me know.

I am off on the train to meet Jon. Will take lots of pictures and give all a full report. I'm excited and I am 58. Tom

I'm coming out to L.A. on March 4th (and I'll be there until March 20th)! Let's get together (yea, yea, yea!) The circle is complete -- once you visited me (sorta) and now I'm visiting you (sorta). I'm also planning on going down to visit the San Diego area to meet Tom and see the love of my life (a different person than Tom ). That would be Sat. the 11th to Tues. the 14th at most. I'm currently planning on taking the train down but if you've got some time to spare in that interval I'd love to travel one way with you! Always great to have a companion -- plus if you've got a car (and a CD player) I can even mooch a ride off you (as we listen to film scores for a few hours!) Waddaya say? Yavar P.S. I'd also like to bring you some music. Do you have any of Shirley Walker's Batman scores besides Mask of the Phantasm? P.P.S. Does Aron's still have anything left? www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.asp?threadID=32783&forumID=1Maybe a traditional spend-money-with-each-other-and-insist-on-titles-to-buy trip would be fun!

Is there another recording besides the KOCH one? That's what I've got but I don't think it's limited. Yavar
