Just wondering if anyone has the Hitman 2: Silent Assassin promo? Joe Batt? Joe Irvin? Jocko? Kevin L.? Chris Tilton? Anyone? I bought it yesterday because it was under $2. I've seen it kicking around a few times and finally decided to buy it because it was basically free. ;D It doesn't have any track listings anywhere on the packaging or CD. It has 15 tracks and is only 30 minutes long. Can anyone tell me the track titles? Did it come bundled with the game? Where did it come from? I can't find anything about it on the internet. Also, has anyone heard any good game scores recently? I think "Black" looks like an awesome game and will have an awesome score by Chris Tilton & Michael Giacchino! The 24 game also comes out next week and I'm guessing Sean Callery's music will be excellent just like for the television show. Thanks! -nate

There is a regular release where it's paired with Hitman. I will order that the next time, unless you can get me that promo for $2 as well!!!
Somebody recommended it to me some time ago, so it must be around.

I thought the "promo" was the original release put out by Lynne Music, but perhaps I was wrong. That cd's over an hour long.

This is kinda creepy now. It sounds like the CD may be a fake? This is exactly what the cover says: Promotional Soundtrack Original Score Composed by Jesper Kyd Performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra On the back it says the same thing except it adds: Conducted by Bela Drahos *Based on a product intended for a mature audience. This number appears on the cover and CD as well: PHTM2PUS57. I don't know if this number can identify the CD's validity or not? It has the Eidos and IO logos on the back as well as painted on the CD. The CD is a picture CD with the hitman painted on it. Copyright is 2002 by Io Interactive (the game developer). It is professionally burned from the edge of the CD towards the middle and in the middle ring of the shiny side there are serial numbers and a bar code type thingy. It would be hard to believe that this is a fake, but maybe it is? One thing that is kinda strange is it doesn't say "not lincesed for sale" anywhere on the product. Also strange that it's not for sale on Ebay either. To me it doesn't seem logical to release the score three times either. Something's not right here. This is strange. I've seen it at two different stores (stores in the same chain). I'll ask at a few videogame messageboards as well and let everyone know what people say there. Thanks! -nate

For $2.00 who cares especially if you like it!! Tom Good point. I do really like it and I will have to get the La La Land Hitman set as well as the La La Land Headhunter set. Awesome stuff! Buy it Armin! I asked at a videogame board and no one knows where it came from, now I'm guessing it was a preorder thing and that is why there is no evidence it exists. I popped it into my computer and used WM Player to try and find info on it, but nothing came back except that the CD is called Hitman 2 performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. I matched some of the track times from the promo with the La La Land release and got this: 1) Hitman 2 (Main Titles)- 2:09 2) Waiting for Action- 1:54 3) Action Begins- 2:05 4) 47 In St. Petersburg- 1:56 5) Trouble in Russia- 1:54 6) Track time is 2:15 but no name comes close to matching this time. 7) Japanese Snow Castle- 2:19 8 ) Desert Sun- 2:07 9) Arabian Dance- 1:51 10) Desert Sun- 2:06 11) H2 Action- 2:02 12) Streets of India- 2:04 13) Mission in India- 2:08 14) The Setup- 2:00 15) End Boss- 2:31 That's all I can piece together and most of it is probably wrong. Although, a lot of those tracks are in logical order. Anyway, time to go watch Blackadder (the WWI episodes) before I go to sleep. Funniest British comedy ever! -nate

Chris Tilton's BLACK is very good. It's different than MERCENARIES in approach. While it's often bombastic (in a good way), it features a number of smaller, low-key, rythmic ideas that develop through each cue, instead of raucous, free-wheeling action material. Think the crisp economy of CALL OF DUTY.

Any word on a soundtrack release for "Black"?
muckle: I have the 22 track copy of Hitman 2, which is your 15 tracks plus 7 extra ones. It has the same tracks, but a different ordering. Your missing tracks are most likely: 6) Japanese Mansion 8) Desert Sun 10) 47 Makes A Decision (triumphant, Zimmerish heroic fanfare)
Main Titles and Japanese Mansion are probably my favorite tracks. I consider the rest of the album to be solid to pretty good, but not exceptional.
As for Headhunter, I remember liking Headhunter more than Headhunter: Redemption (both come with the album), but I'd have to listen to it again to say more.

Where did you get it for $2? Also, if it's is a "real" store then it'll be a slight problem for me... I got it from a Cheapo Records store. I don't know if they are national or not, but there is about half a dozen of them in Minnesota (mainly in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul--so I have to worry about being radomly murdered if I want to go there ). I hate how they price stuff at these stores. I found this promo in one of their only suburban shops as well as a couple other $1 CDs. The Cheapos in the middle of downtown twincities generally charge three to four dollars more for every CD (I think the average price is around $7 for a used CD). They also have a classical music only store (called Applause) that has some soundtracks, but they charge two dollars more for them there than the Cheapo literally across the street. In the phonebook Cheapo has a link to the djangosmusic website, but they don't sell promos so I don't think you'll find it on the internet. Anyway, it doesn't really matter being you can get the expanded version released by La La Land. Ryan: Being I've never heard Call of Duty I'll probably have to pick that up before I would get Black (but I love hearing there is bombastic music at times in the score). It looks like a game I will definitely buy, so I'll listen to the score in the game and see if I like it. Mike: My favorite track so far is the Main Title as well. I'm fairly confident that I have the correct order for track 1 on my CD (Main Titles) and track 15 (End Boss), but other than that I'm not really sure. Maybe, I do have Japanese Mansion, etc., etc. on the CD. The world may never know. As for the Headhunter scores, I'm just going by Tommy Tallarico's recommendation saying they are some of the best videogame scores ever. Wow, long post. -nate side note: Oh, and one more little tidbit: Mall of America sucks for CDs!!!!! The only CD store they have at the biggest mall in the entire country is Sam Goody! I kid you not!

Go here for samples: cdbaby.com/cd/jesperkydWho is Tommy Tallarico? I just put in the Headhunter scores, and I remember not being impressed. Within the game, I have no doubt that the music is very impressive - but on CD, and not having played the game, the disks didn't get many listens from me.

Okay, looks right to me. Videogame composer and sound designer. He is a pioneer in videogame sound design and is quite famous for it. Co-hosts two separate videogame television shows on G4tv (Judgement Day and Electronic Playground). He also co-composed one of the best soundtracks last year in Advent Rising. Here is a link to his website: www.tallarico.comNot saying I'll agree with his statement about the Headhunter scores when I hear them. I still think the Japanese make the best games and game music. -nate

Have you listened to the Advent Rising score? Is it any good?
I have that in my Amazon.com shopping cart, so I will likely be getting it when I make my next order from there.
